Good riddance - that is the government's message to activist Ali Abdul Jalil for his defiant response after having his passport cancelled by the Home Ministry.

In a Twitter posting, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin circulated Ali's defiant Facebook message that is accompanied by what  appears to be an asylum card.

"Good riddance. Don't ever come back," 

Khairy ( right ) said.

Yesterday, the Immigration Department announced that it had cancelled Ali's passport after he fled to Sweden.

Prior to him fleeing, Amnesty International had described Ali as a "prisoner of conscience" after being arrested four times under the Sedition Act, in less than a month.

He faces multiple charges in Malaysia under the Sedition Act for allegedly insulting the royalty.

Reacting to his passport cancellation, Ali defiantly said more people will stand up to the government and the monarchs.

"Revoking my passport does not mean I will stop... It just makes it easier for me to prove that I deserve asylum.

"I was treated worse than a criminal, the (Malaysian) government treated me like rubbish.

"Let the whole world know how cruel is the Malaysian government," Ali ( left ) said in a Facebook posting that included several criticisms of the royalty.

The Immigration Department also announced yesterday that sex blogger Alvin Tan's passport was likewise revoked.

Tan had fled to the US after facing charges under the Sedition Act for a Facebook posting deemed insulting to Muslims.

The blogger had, in his posting, invited Muslims to eat the pork dish bak kut teh to break their fast during Ramadan this year.
