Lenggong Perkasa Youth chief Saad Abdul Rahman did not take drugs prior to being punched by an Umno Youth leader.

Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali, claimed that a urine test taken by Saad showed that he was free from drugs.

"There were rumours saying that he fell down because he took drugs. But he fell down because he was punched," said Ibrahim in a press conference today.

Saad who received three stitches over his injuries, claimed that Lenggong Umno Youth chief Mohamad Iruan Zulkefli had suddenly grabbed his throat and punched him.

Mohd Iruan is also special officer to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Ibrahim ( right ), meanwhile, had expressed his disappointment with what that had happened.

"Nevertheless, I leave it to the police to conduct an investigation. One thing I would like to ask is for them to investigate this in a transparent way, which I am confident that they will do so.

 

"I also hope that no one uses his or her influence to cover up the case. 

 

"It's normal in local politics; when there are those who stand out, there will be those who are dissatisfied," he added.

'Perkasa doesn't punch or bite cops' ears'

When asked whether Umno had become more aggressive in their ways, Ibrahim said it was their right if this was their new style of struggle.

"But what's important is that it must be according to the law. We can be aggressive and vocal.

"But Perkasa never get involved in demonstrations, nor do we go to the streets. We have never punched or bit the ears of policemen.

"Even Lenggong Perkasa Youth chief (Saad) didn't fight back when he was punched nor did he call up his friends. Although people say many things about us, on record, we are clean," he said.

The incident between Saad and Iruan had allegedly occurred at the Dewan Kampung Kelantan in Lenggong, Negeri Sembilan, on Thursday.

Iruan had told  Malaysiakini yesterday that Saad was pretending and “ acting ” as if he was badly hurt.
