Having traded barbs for several days, tension was high as DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali entered the Pakatan leadership council meeting today.

Lim had accused Mustafa as "dishonest" for claiming that DAP did not consult PAS on local elections.

Mustafa took offence at this and had earlier demanded Lim apologise during the meeting on top of challenging him to a debate.

However, Mustafa today took a softer stance after the hour long meeting, saying: "Let bygones be bygones".

Pressed if Lim had apologised to him, Mustafa merely said: "It does not arise anymore".

"There is nothing, the issue is resolved," he told journalists at the PAS headquarters today.

Asked who had extended the olive branch first, Mustafa replied: "It was resolved together".

Mustafa and Lim were present at the Pakatan press conference chaired by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim ( right ).

Meanwhile, PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub described Lim's meeting with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang as "cordial".

"They were quite cordial, they are old friends who have not met for some time," he said.

It is noted that the Pakatan Rakyat leadership council meeting has not convened for more than four months.

Lim has repeatedly pressured Hadi to attend the Pakatan meeting after the president overruled Pakatan's decision despite being agreed upon by his PAS subordinates who were sent in Hadi's place.

Hadi had then responded coldly to Lim, saying that he was not a “student in school” and would not be pressured into attending the meeting.
