Caught between a hudud rock and a hard place
YOURSAY ‘MCA should be taking up the protest to Kelantan Umno.’
Cops slammed for escorting MCA protest
Versey: The MCA Youth has either got into the habit of performing monkey shows or their brain is so short of oxygen that they forgot they had made a fool of themselves on May 5 when staging a protest outside the PAS headquarters, telling reporters that they "oppose PAS' hudud, but respect Umno's stance to support the implementation of hudud".
Is it because they heartily respect Umno Aduns (state assembly representatives), MPs and ministers, hence they don’t protest against Cheras Umno division chief Syed Ali Alhabshee and Umno minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob for telling MCA and Gerakan to butt out of the hudud debate and not to interfere with the implementation of hudud?
Ferdtan: How lucky these young MCA ‘towkays’ can be when they can allegedly come with police escorts for the protest at the DAP headquarters. They came in expensive cars, too. There was no police harassment and intimation unlike what we had in Bersih rallies.
At Bersih rallies, we came in commuter trains, and we faced the fearful red-helmet riot squad police and we suffered the tear gas and the painful ‘holy’ water from them. Some were not so lucky as they were beaten up.
No wonder MCA is often called a ‘towkay’ party. They have privileges that normal Malaysians do not enjoyed.
Lone_Star: Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng, look at this happening positively. The rakyat can now also request for police outriders the next time a peaceful assembly is held.
A precedent has been set. After all, the police should remember who is paying their salary.
Next time, complain when such escort services are not provided at future peaceful assemblies. There should not be favouritism as we are all tax-paying rakyat.
P Dev Anand Pillai: What personal stand is MCA talking about when Umno (their beloved coalition brethren) in Kelantan wholeheartedly supported the bill to implement hudud law in Kelantan?
Learn to stand up to Umno and respond to Umno's cooperation with PAS first before training the guns at DAP, which has been consistent from day one on hudud.
Kamikasi: MCA, whichever way you turn politically, the Chinese in Penang and the rest of Malaysia will give you the middle finger.
If you are serious about the Chinese, I suggest you look into the plight and the future of the Chinese youth. While Umno pumps millions to get Malay youths to enter the skills sector, the non-bumi youths are left to fend for themselves.
Many Chinese youths do not have the means to develop their skills so they end up as Ah Long, and in brothels and other low paying jobs.
Don't waste your time fighting DAP. It is doing good job fighting for all Malaysians.
Citizen No.26: Shame on MCA and the police. MCA should be taking up the protest to Kelantan Umno instead of DAP.
It was the Kelantan Umno that enticed the recalcitrant PAS to renege on the Pakatan Rakyat's common policy. Or could MCA be part of the hudud's master plan to destroy Pakatan?
Geronimo: DAP should also prepare letters of resignation for Liow Tiong Lai and Wee Ka Siong to sign.
After all, they said they would quit the BN should Umno support the bill and the latter did, but what do you know, MCA is still hanging around.
It took that Umno leader from the Cheras division to tell MCA off , urging them to leave if they want to protest against the hudud law, and quietly, MCA retreated with their tails between their legs.
Anonymous_3f4b: DAP have themselves to blame for teaming up with PAS and exhorting the Chinese to vote for this ultra-religious party which adore IS (Islamic State).
DAP representatives are also not clean and are no angels. They profess to be clean, transparent, competent and accountable but are exactly the opposite.
MCA is right by calling on these leaders to tender their resignation as they have open up a can of worms gravitating towards an Islamic caliphate with their association with PAS all for the sake of myopic political glory at the expense of the innocent and gullible non-Muslims who believe them like gospel truth.
Oh Ya?: This is not the time to find faults. The fingers are pointing both ways. Both DAP and MCA are guilty of their hopelessness and inability to restrain their respective partners in crime - PAS and Umno - which worked hands in glove in passing the hudud laws in Kelantan.
If they still have any remorse and sense of responsibility to the electorates, they should not be knifing each other but should set aside their differences and be united in their opposition to hudud.
Not Confused: Same old, same old. The boys in blue are not being impartial. Threatening and arresting protesters one day, and escorting government supporters to a different protest the next.
So what’s new?
Turvy: There's a pitiful round-headed clown that prances about when the lions dance. This dim wit thinks that the lions dance to his bidding.
MCA's become such a clown - round-headed, bald of ideas, impotent and delusional. They've become batik-wearing stooges to the overfed Umno.
