Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali today warned against involving the Selangor palace in the current political crisis faced by Pakatan Rakyat.

Azmin, who was at the Shah Alam mosque today for Friday prayers, was asked by reporters whether he had met Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to discuss the matter.

"There is no need (to discuss the crisis). Do not drag the palace into this political crisis.

"We must respect the royal institution," he said, adding that had an audience with the sultan every week to discuss matters related to the development of the state.

"I meet the sultan every Tuesday every week, without fail. So there's no problem," he said.

Earlier, PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli earlier said Azmin would be seeking an audience with the sultan soon to explain the situation of the state government.

'We can sit down, discuss'

Rafizi had said the audience was to enable the menteri besar to clarify the actual political situation to the sultan besides informing the people in the state of the matter.

Meanwhile, asked whether he had met Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua to discuss the crisis, Azmin stressed that he had been meeting Pua on various issues.

"We will continue to meet. Whether formally or informally, what's important is that we meet.

"I am open, we can sit down and discuss. I think it is a good and healthy approach," he said.

He said should there be any disputes, they should "sit down and discuss" and this has been Pakatan’s strength for the last few years.

"When there are issues, we discuss openly. We got nothing to hide. Now this is truly nothing to hide," he said in an apparent jibe at Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who failed to attend the ' Nothing to Hide ' dialogue session.
