Two transferred senior MACC officers reinstated

Ourvotesdecide: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) must immediately undertake an investigation as to who issued the directive to immediately transfer the two key MACC officers to the Prime Minister’s Department and who directed the police to arrest, detain and question the MACC officials involved in the investigations into the PM's personal bank accounts.

The discovery or exposure of the hidden hand(s) is in the public interest as it would deter any politician or anyone in high position from threatening and interfering in such investigations in the future.

If you are clean, honest and have good principles in life and in doing your duties, you can stand your ground and the world at large will come to defend you against crooks, thieves and robbers.

Above all, God Almighty will protect you. He will also bless you with your needs. Remember, the MACC held special prayers to call for divine protection and guidance. Clearly, God Almighty had answered their prayers.

How good would our beloved country be if all those who are tasked to manage our institutions, judiciary, MACC, police, Attorney-General’s Chambers, Election Commission etc, have such good principles and act without fear or favour.

May this episode be a shining example to all those who head, manage and look after our institutions. Expose the politicians if they interfere in your duties or if they threaten you.

Democrat: Usually, leaders will ask their officers to explain first, and then executed the transfer if something wrong had indeed been committed.

So what foolishness is this - to first transfer them, then question them, and later cancel their transfers?

RakyatBiasa: Were special operations division director Bahri Mohamad Zin and strategic communications director Rohaizad Yaakob warned by PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) and sent back to their respective offices.

Are they able to carry out their investigations independently without further interference? All eyes are on them now.

Anonymous_3f6d: MACC, redeem yourself now or forever be condemned.

Tok Karut: Because you cannot sue them for humiliation, pain and suffering, at least discipline those who engineered the transfer, however high?

Methinks they are also afraid of the ‘hajat’ prayers, not to mention, lawyer Rosli Dahlan who had offered to help the transferred duo.

1 Malaysia Dalam Bahaya: When will Ali Hamsa, who is also a member of the Board of Advisors of 1MDB, be charged for abuse of power for these transfers?

Abasir: There is now good reason to believe that Ali Hamsa abused his authority. He should now be duly investigated by the MACC for abusing his position, acting in a frivolous manner with no regard for due process, insulting the investigating agency, shattering its confidence and morale and fostering public anger.

Slavish order takers (who do so for self-interest and personal gain) have no place in the civil service.

Wandering Star: Chief secretary to the government, you have only done half the 'job' in getting them reinstated but you have not answered to the public who were the culprits responsible for having them transferred instantly for suspect reasons.

Tan Kim Keong: Sack chief secretary to the government Ali Hamsa, instead of thanking him. He should have asked both of them for their explanations before making the decision to transfer them. I’m assuming he had acted unilaterally, of course.

Hermit: A civil servant who barters his professionalism for favours, such as promotion, extension of service beyond mandatory retirement and other benefits for self and family, he is actually like a cow with a rope tied to its nose.

When the master jerks the rope, the cow jumps and executes the order blindly. When the cow's service is no longer required, the best practice is to send it to the slaughterhouse.

The worst is when one is harassed and humiliated and ordered to pack off, even with a few days left before mandatory retirement.

Clearwater: Public uproar resulted in the cancellation of the transfers, not some cosmetic meeting with the Public Service Department (PSD) director-general. We shall see how diligently the re-instated MACC officers perform their tasks.

The ongoing probe into the RM42 million from SRC International which ended up in PM Najib Abdul Razak's personal account is the crux of the matter.

Oh Ya?: The damage is already done. The motive of the transfer must be duly investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice, if laws have been breached. No two ways about it.

Meantime a royal commission of inquiry must be formed to make recommendations to strengthen not only MACC but all other supposedly independent institutions which have been abused by the ruling elite for years.

Vijay47: Ali Hamsa, you believe that you have now undone the earlier negative, when the two officers were given immediate transfers, by this positive order you have now given.

No such luck, mister, you have merely compounded the earlier mess you created. You have again shown clearly that much of the government's administrative functions are carried out on whims and fancies and for the convenience or protection of selected individuals.

Ali Hamsa, you have only brought shame and ridicule to the service you command. In the United Kingdom, with which Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak wishes to compare Malaysia , the head would have resigned.

I wait with bated breath.
