Malay NGO Coalition chairperson Jamal Md Yunos said he will not be in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow for any rally.

The Sungai Besar Umno division chief said he has prior commitments in his division and will instead "slaughter a few cows" tomorrow in conjunction with Hari Raya Haji celebration programmes planned earlier.

"I have programmes in Sungai Besar tomorrow; there are many cows to be sacrificed.

"I don't have anything to do (with the rally) and I would not be at Petaling Street tomorrow," he told reporters in front of the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters tonight.

On Wednesday, Jamal had warned of a possible riot at Petaling Street tomorrow if the authorities fail to act on traders who sell counterfeit goods

"If the authorities don't act by Friday, I am 99 percent certain on Saturday, there would be a rally and a riot may happen," he had said.

However, today, he disowned his role in the protest.

Earlier today, deputy inspector-general of police Noor Rashid Ibrahim told Bernama that the police will be calling Jamal to the Dang Wangi IPD on tomorrow's rally.

However, Jamal who was seen entering the police station at about 7.45pm with his lawyer Suzana Nurlihan, claims that he is at the police station on a different matter.

He said the police told him he was called in for his report on Wednesday in which he claimed he was being slandered on social media.

"I don't know (about Petaling Street). I am here today because previously, I made a police report because of slander against me, saying I want to spit on (former prime minister) Tun Mahathir (Mohamad)'s face, stomp on his photograph, and I had a scandal with someone. I have denied all this by lodging a police report," he said.

Jamal lodged 17 police reports at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters on Wednesday, to refute claims he had attempted to rape an actress, as well as to deny an anonymous blog posting which said he received RM3 million from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to organise the red shirt rally on Sept 16.
