A cartoon depicting Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor has purportedly been blocked on Facebook.

Cartoonist Zulkiflee Anwar Haque, better known as Zunar, is puzzled as to why the cartoon has been blocked on all three of his Facebook pages.

The cartoon, titled “Plan B (ini) on Zeti” shows a caricature of Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz leaving the central bank while the caricature beside her, depicted as “Rosmah”, heads “Bank Negaros”.

Zunar said the cartoon was blocked on these pages: “Zunar Kartunis Fan Club”, “Zunar Kartunis” and “Zunar Kartunis Dua”.

“On my personal Facebook account, the text is there but the picture is no longer there.

“I have complained to Facebook but nothing has happened,” said Zunar, who noticed the cartoon’s disappearance about 12.30pm today.

The cartoonist does not believe that it is a coincidence that the cartoon is blocked on all three Facebook pages.

“Before this, there were numerous cartoons on Najib, but they were not blocked. But now, when it depicts Rosmah, it gets blocked,” Zunar told Malaysiakini .

He added that this was his first cartoon on Rosmah after two months.

Several attempts to upload the image have also failed, he said.

“I tried changing the file name, but it was still blocked,” he said.

Nevertheless, the latest cartoon by Zunar can be viewed on the Malaysiakini website and the cartoonist's website .

Police previously seized copies of Zunar’s book, which features caricatures of Rosmah.

Early this year, in February, more than 100 copies of ‘Ros in Kangkung Land’ were confiscated after police stopped the delivery van transporting the books.
