SRC International's press statement yesterday has not satiated Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua's hunger for answers.

Instead, he only has more questions to ask.

"We would like the Finance Ministry to inform us as to who exactly is running SRC today.

"Who actually carried out the 'internal investigations' and more interestingly, who wrote and approved the media statement?" Pua ( photo ) asked at a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.

He pointed out that SRC bosses Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil and Suboh Mohd Yassin are in the wind, and currently wanted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

"Is there already a new management team put in place to run SRC? Are the identities of this new team top secret as well?" he questioned.

Justify what the money was used for

SRC in its statement yesterday said based on an internal investigation, none of its funds were misappropriated.

This was in regard to RM42 million of its funds allegedly channelled to subsidiary companies and into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal account.

Pua said: "They should then justify what the money was used for.

"If they are unable to justify, Malaysians can only conclude that this is breach of trust and misappropriation."

Asked to comment on news that Nik Faisal ( photo ) and Suboh will be meeting the MACC soon, Pua questioned the timing.

"Why now? Why not two months ago, and why no explanation?

"Are they still working out how to answer... are they working out how to get a get-out-of jail-free card?

"What the fund has been used for should be very clear. There should be a record on that," Pua added.

SRC is a former 1MDB subsidiary, and is currently wholly-owned by the Finance Ministry, which is also headed by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
