Sacking is what cowards do to get rid of opponents

YOURSAY | ‘One thing for sure, integrity does not pay. Survival comes first.’

154 Umno chiefs want action on errant party leaders

RCZ: This only goes to show that the 154 Umno division chiefs are indeed cowards as they have no guts to oppose alleged theft in the billions, no guts to bring down the actual crooks and no guts to save the country from the actual crooks.

Please sack Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin and gang because that is what cowards do to their opponents. The rakyat, too, have had enough of these cowards and of Umno and BN.

I Wonder?: What do you mean by errant leaders? Are you talking of those corrupt to the core, grossly abusive of their positions and power, secretly looting the people's money by the billions and channelling the money into personal bank accounts?

Or those who exposed and criticised the wrongdoings wanting the situation rectified?

Sound Mind: One thing for sure, integrity does not pay. Survival comes first.

We human beings feel no shame about protecting anything, provided there is material gain, and it’s immaterial of how it comes.

RR: In a country or political party or NGO, if there is no avenue for constructive dissent or views then there is no democracy in the system.

Giving dissenting views especially on corrupt practices or abuse of power is not sabotaging or an attempt to overthrow a government or even a political party. Harassing or bullying the dissenters is unpatriotic and undermines an established system.

The fact that about 150 Umno divisional leaders condone wrongdoings tells the world the real status of abuse of power. Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Muhyiddin are right when they call these leaders cowards.

Victor Johan: Umno had previously postponed its annual general meeting (AGM) and election programme.

To ensure legitimacy, why doesn't Umno call an earlier delegates meeting and new party elections?

Send In The Clowns: This scenario is like the fall of the Roman Empire. The signs are already there.

The top leadership have gone mad with greed and the foot soldiers are already bought with the immoral RM2.6 billion. The collapse will come; it is just the matter of time.

Muhyiddin must fight back if axed, or be tagged coward

What The Dickens: It looks like the days of the former deputy prime minister (DPM) are numbered. If he still does not take decisive moves to arrest his downfall, he will be like a sitting duck.

Come on Muhyiddin, stand up and gather whatever supporters you still have and fight back aggressively or you will be erased permanently.

Is being absolutely loyal to the party worth it but blind to the realities that are threatening your position in the party?

Your one-time former comrades in the party have ditched you. The writing is on the wall. There is no time to lose. What are you waiting for?

PKM: Amazing. The man accused of crime is getting rid of those who questioned his actions, and the whole party is scrambling to support him.

What can one say about such a party? Where’s the pride and honour for which they are said to be fighting so hard?

Legit: Muhyiddin is what billionaire Donald Trump would call a ‘low energy’ person. If he is worthy of a dynamic leader, he would have fought tooth and nail his sacking as DPM.

Instead he has remained largely mute and expecting former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad to fight his battles.

It will be good if he is sacked from his deputy president's post so that Umno will be potentially weakened considerably and split.

That will be an opportune moment for the opposition to give that killer knockout punch to BN in the coming general election (GE) or perhaps even before that.

Ketuanan Rakyat: Muhyiddin is not former DPM Anwar Ibrahim. He does not have the leadership qualities of Anwar.

Let us see what happens. Malaysians must ensure Umnoputras do not continue playing games like this in the future. Vote them out at the next opportunity before Malaysia becomes bankrupt.

KosongMan: Muhyiddin, don't quit. Stay on because staying on will be more painful than quitting.

Haveagreatday: And so, we who root for change can only hope and pray. The course of action is out of our hands.

Yes, we who are disgusted with Najib's corrupt regime can only hope Muhyiddin's pending suspension will tear Umno apart.
