Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has remained tightlipped regarding the seven party leaders who may face action due to disciplinary infractions.

Asked on the status of the seven when met at Parliament today, the Putrajaya MP refused to comment and kept on walking.

He also did not respond to a question if Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin would be suspended before the year end and if the latter had been notified of this.

"Bye, tak de, tak de (nothing). I don't want to answer," he told reporters.

Last week, Tengku Adnan, who is known as Ku Nan, said the seven would most likely face action in the form of suspension as Umno is " sick and tired " of their public statements.

This remark came hot on the heels of Muhyiddin accusing Umno members of being cowards for not standing up for him.

In late July, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had axed the Umno number two as deputy prime minister following his critical remarks concerning 1MDB.

Also dropped as minister was Umno vice-president Mohd Shafie Apdal, who had also been vocal about 1MDB.

In a related development, The Malaysian Insider reported that Jamal Mohd Yunus, the infamous Sg Besar Umno division chief involved in the red-shirts rally, was also on the Umno 7 list.

Quoting a source, the portal said apart from Muhyiddin and Shafie, others were Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former minister Zainuddin Maidin, former Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Junid and Cheras division chief Syed Ali Alhabshee.

According to the report, Tengku Adnan is facing difficulties in framing the charges while the legal adviser had also oped out.

"The lawyer has withdrawn from the case, over not knowing what offence to charge them with," the source was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Umno vice-president Shafie Apdal who is said to be one of the Umno 7, refused to comment on the matter when met at Parliament.

"I don't want to answer that question," he said when asked if he was ready to face the consequences of the party's disciplinary action.

He also refused to answer when queried if he would support the no-confidence motion against the prime minister brought by the opposition at the Dewan Rakyat.
