YOURSAY | ‘Why did it take so long for MACC to call the PM in for questioning?’

PM to give statement to MACC on RM2.6b 'soon'

Odin Tajué: The ‘interrogation' of the PM will be conducted in an office at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's headquarters specially furnished with top-end furniture and decorated by Malaysia's top interior designer - all organised for the occasion.

Da Hong Pao, the world's most expensive tea, will be served in the finest bone china. A selection of croissants, sliced baguette and wholemeal bread freshly baked by Shangri-La's patisserie chef will be served on solid silver plates.

Of course, the finest cheese, caviar, butter, fruit preserves and fresh cream will be offered. Naturally, the cutlery will be solid silver. MACC's chief (MD) will host the tea and question Najib Razak (PM).

MD: Dato Seri, would you like to tell us about the RM2.6 billion transferred into your personal bank accounts?

PM: Actually, it was not RM2.6 billion.

MD: No?

PM: No. You see, people have exaggerated the amount to make me look guiltier than sin.

MD: So what was the actual amount?

PM: It was only RM2.19282 billion. The dollar was then only RM3.22. As you can see, I am very particular about detail. That's why I've given you the figure to five decimal places. Anyway, it's kacang puteh lah .

MD: Okay. So, let's say RM2.2 billion. Where did it come from?

PM: Actually, it was drawn from my legacy family inheritance. But people would not have believed it if I had said that, because my late father was a very frugal man.

MD: Yes, I've heard he was a miser. He kept most of his money in the mattress.

PM: Correct! And the money multiplied faster than the rabbit.

MD: Anyway, so the money was not from a wealthy Arab?

PM: Of course not. Even Saudi Arabia's king wouldn't donate that much money.

MD: Okay. Since it was from your legacy family inheritance, why have you not used it for your personal gain?

PM: Obvious, isn't it?

MD: Sorry, Dato Seri, it is not to me.

PM: Well, look at my belly, my whole person. I need to lose weight. So, no, I have not used the money to stuff myself up with fattening foods.

MD: Very good, Dato Seri. That part is cleared, then. And the RM42 million from SRC International?

PM: Oh, that was used for community projects. For example, bringing in that psycho - oops! I mean, Psy. Made the community very happy seeing him riding an imaginary horse on stage, didn't it?

MD: Yes, it did. A very good idea. Okay, that's all, Dato Seri. More tea…?

RM2.6billion Duit Haram : Do not place too much hope on MACC. Odin did a very good enactment of the possible interview of Najib by MACC. Yes, the final conclusion: no evidence against Najib.

Why not give his answers in Parliament? All Malaysians would like to hear them. Allow yourself to be questioned by the likes of MPs Tony Pua and Rafizi Ramli. Honestly, we do not have much confidence in MACC.

Aquinas Says: Let me guess. He will give a P&C (personal and confidential) statement which cannot be divulged to the public for national security reasons.

The attorney-general will announce he is satisfied with the explanation and exonerate the PM. The file is then classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

CQ Muar: Najib, after exhaustive months keeping the nation and rakyat wondering over your elegant silence with regard to the RM2.6 billion, etc, here you're stalling for time with your “will give statement to MACC in the immediate future”.

Are you still that desperate, fumbling around for the best answer in order to escape from the dragnet that's closing in on you?

Had you been free from guilt, you'd have sued all your critics right from the beginning for those scandalous remarks made against a PM. You wouldn't have hesitated to take actions against such slander nor tolerated those 'unjust' accusations.

Of course, we have anticipated and expected the outcome to turn in your favour; this is considering your sudden confidence talking about "wrapping up" the investigation to avoid further criticisms.

You may say all you want, but at the end of the day, elements of doubts will be indelible and linger on, Mr Prime Minister. You'll still be remembered as the greatest ‘plundering’ PM of all time.

Kangkung: I think the heat is too much for him so this ‘sandiwara’ is necessary. The fact that it took MACC so long before calling Najib in for questioning shows it is nothing more than an attempt to pull the wool over the rakyat's eyes.

Why did it take so long for the PM to be called in? And even so he gets to choose when to give his statement.

MACC waiting for appointment to quiz Najib on RM2.6b

Kim Quek: It is sickening to keep on reading absurd excuses from MACC for its abject failure to bring the alleged criminals of these high crimes to book.

Photo images of banking transactions relating to the unaccounted for deposit of US$681 million and the illegal flow of RM42 million from SRC International to Najib’s personal bank accounts have been available in the Internet for months, and yet MACC continues to run around like headless chicken, seemingly getting nowhere nearer to the big-time culprits.

For heaven’s sake, will MACC be honest for once, and tell the people the simple truth that it just hasn’t got what it takes to take on the prime minister of the country?

2Malaysia: Speculations, my food. The following are the facts:

1) "It was a donation." Did Najib declare to LHDN (Income Tax Bureau) regarding his RM2.6 billion. Even donations must be declared.

2) "It was used for BN during the last elections." Which means he has broken the law by exceeding the limit that can be spent during elections.

3) Bank Negara itself has revoked licences related to 1MDB and ordered money to be returned because it was lied to.

4) The DPM sacked. Then AG forced to retire due to "health concerns" but then he later appeared saying he was healthy and there was no MC (medical certificate). MACC raided and its officers forcefully transferred.

Individuals barred from leaving the country. Those who did leave were arrested and initially detained using laws that were meant for terrorism. Public Accounts Committee disbanded by transfers once again. Umno members sacked.

Still speculations?

Pemerhati: We were told that Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan was able to walk into Najib's house and ask for a scholarship.

So why can’t MACC also walk into Najib's house and ask him some questions?
