Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has denied tweeting any comment on the recent show of solidarity between PAS and Umno, strongly dismissing a tweet saying that PAS had benefited from the RM2.6 billion donation.

Lim denied the tweet alleging that PAS was one of the parties that was a beneficiary of the RM2.6 billion deposited in Najib’s private bank accounts before the 2013 general election.

He also denied issuing any comment on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s offer to mend ties with PAS, or that Najib was on the same stage with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to speak of Muslim unity in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

A police report against the offensive tweet was lodged at the Northeast District police headquarters on Jalan Pattani about 11am today by Lim’s office Twitter administrator, Yap Lee Ling.

“I never commented on the issue since Umno’s annual general meeting (which ended) last week. I feel that is their business and their family problem, not ours,” Lim told a press conference today.

“It has nothing to do with me or the DAP; do not try to link me to them (Najib or Hadi); this is the work of evil and malicious people,” he added.

While Lim’s Twitter handle is Twitter @cmlimguaneng, the tweet on the PAS-Umno cooperation was posted using the handle @DairyYB at 5.50pm yesterday.

The tweet said, "PAS antara yang terima bahagian dari dana RM2.6B. Jadi memang layak mereka berkawan baik" (PAS was among those who got the RM2.6 billion donation. They deserve to be good friends).

The tweet also posted a photo of Najib and Hadi at the regional conference for al-Azhar University alumni in Kuala Lumpur.

Lim said he had merely said that MCA should respond to the latest political development as it is still with the BN coalition.

MCA and its ally Gerakan have strongly opposed PAS’ intention to implement hudud in the country, while Gerakan has also filed a suit against the Islamic party for tabling a Private Member's Bill on hudud in Parliament.

“We are more concerned about ourselves; we would rather work for the betterment of the nation and will continue to do this without the help of the federal government (run by BN),” Lim said.

“We want to address all problems that come to us from the people; we don't want the situation to be where, even after one year of the great flood, people are still living in makeshift tents,” he added, an obvious reference to PAS in Kelantan.

It has been revealed that even after a year of the massive floods which hit Kelantan and displaced some 200,000 people, there are still many still waiting for new housing, as their homes have been swept away.
