PKR national deputy chief Dr Afif Bahardin has confirmed that Halimah Nasoha has been dropped from the wing’s central committee, and therefore her statements do not represent the party’s Youth wing.

Afif said Halimah was automatically dropped from the committee according to Item 7.14 of the wing’s standing order.

The standing order states that any PKR Youth committee member who fails to attend the wing’s leadership meetings for six times, without proper reasons, will be deemed as having resigned from the committee.

“As such, Halimah’s statements do not represent PKR Youth’s official stand,” Afif said in a statement.

“Any statements coming from Halimah should be deemed personal and have nothing to do with PKR Youth,” he added.

Asked if Halimah was dropped because of her recent bold statement against two PKR leaders, Afif said “she was dropped because she was not active in the wing”.

Halimah courted trouble after she urged the party’s disciplinary board to call PKR deputy president Azmin Ali and renegade member Badrul Hisham Shaharin to end their open conflict as it undermines the party’s image.

Halimah was quoted in Sinar Harian today as saying that Badrul Hisham, also known as Chegubard, ought to provide proof of his allegations against Azmin who allegedly approved logging concessions to a company without an open tender system.

She added that Azmin can also drag Chegubard to court for allegedly slandering him, to see if the latter can provide any evidence to back his claims.

Chegubard, who was PKR’s candidate in Sungai Acheh in the 2013 general election, claimed he possessed a letter on the logging project involving the state government.

The letter allegedly showed that an open tender for the logging concession had been bypassed but Chegubard is not prepared to reveal the “ secret letter ” yet.

She had advised Azmin to remain calm instead of refuting Chegubard with “aggressive words” (serangan perkataan kasar).

Azmin, who is Selangor menteri besar, has asked Chegubard to bring the case to the MACC if he has proof, instead of “ barking ” about the matter.

Azmin has insisted that his administration did not issue any permit for such logging activities.
