Remand for baby burial case extended till Tuesday

The remand orders on two brothers in connection with the finding of the remains of a baby boy who was buried in some bushes in Dangi, Kuala Pilah, were extended until Tuesday (Jan 19).

Nilai District Police chief Supt Zaldino Zaluddin told Bernama the investigation papers on the case would be submitted to the Public Prosecutor for further action soon.

The duo, aged 21 and 24 years, were detained on Tuesday (Jan 12) and subsequently police found the body of the baby which was wrapped in cloth and buried in bushes in Dangi, Kuala Pilah.

The baby was believed to have died after birth in Nilai on Jan 10.

Based on preliminary investigation, it was found that the 24-year-old boyfriend of the mother and his brother had buried the dead baby.

The baby's mother, aged 25, is still being treated at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, Seremban and further action is due to be taken (against her).
