Najib, you’re ridiculing rakyat with RM2.6b ‘donation’

YOURSAY | ‘Don’t blame social media, your ministers are capable of ridiculing themselves.’

PM: Don't use social media to ridicule others

Saya Pun Nak Cari Makan: PM Najib Razak, why do the people make use of social media to ridicule others, especially corrupt government officials?

Simple. The mainstream media are controlled by the government, and those reporting anything distasteful to the ministers would have their publishing licences cancelled.

Only your government is afraid of ridicule. If a government is clean and pure, ridicule on social media is not an issue.

You can see the speck in your brother's eye, but you can’t see the log that is Utusan Malaysia , fully under your control, which has been relentlessly spewing false ridicules on the opposition, and yet you fail to reprimand the editors.

Without social media, your mega donation, RM42 million from SRC and the 1MDB fiasco would have gone unnoticed.

We need social media, especially when we are living under a government whose administration is opaque, and its dealings and business transactions cloaked in absolute secrecy.

Slumdog: Najib, if you and your dim-witted ministers are honest, open, forthright and do not make outrageous and foolish comments, there will be no reason for the rakyat to make fun of or ridicule them or any of the numerous numbskull departmental heads.

Some of the most earth-shatteringly dumb comments have come out of the mouths of these people and the natural reaction of the rakyat is to denigrate them.

As others have said, RM2.6 billion has been deposited into your personal account but to date you have not provided a single believable response to the so-called donation. So if the rakyat ridicule you, you truly deserve it.

Rupert16: I wonder who is ridiculing who. If anything, Najib is the one ridiculing the rakyat with the most ridiculous and outrageous excuse that he got the RM2.6 billion from an Arab donor.

Ib: Najib, if you sack ministers Salleh Said Keruak, Ahmad Maslan and Abdul Rahman Dahlan, the level of ridicule on the Internet will drop by half overnight and your popularity rating is guaranteed to go up.

Anonymous_3f6d: Indeed, don’t blame social media, your ministers are capable of ridiculing themselves very well.

The Merchants of Hate

Anonymous 29051438068738: Lest we forget, I’m rehashing this news report :

Umno must emulate the bravery of a Middle Eastern militant group that defeated an Iraqi force outnumbering it nearly 30 to one if the Malay nationalist party is to survive, Najib Razak said yesterday.

The Umno president and prime minister was listing virtues that were needed to allow the Malay nationalist party to continue in power, during a dinner to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its Cheras branch yesterday (June 23, 2014).

“For example, when someone dares to fight to their death, they can even defeat a much bigger team.

“As proof - whether we agree or not is another matter - the group ISIL with the strength of just 1,300 people, can defeat an Iraqi army of 30,000 soldiers, until four, five generals with three, four stars run for their lives, jump out the window at night.

“Why? Because they are afraid of those who are brave,” Najib told more than 1,000 Umno members in attendance.

Prudent: Evidence available now points to IS being created by Turkey backed by the Saudis and Qataris, which formed the Sunni alliance against the Shiite alliance of Iran, Syria (President Assad of Syria is an Alawite - a subset of the Shiites).

The target is to take over the oil-rich areas of northern Iraq, boot the Russians out of Syria and revive the Ottoman Empire as a thorn in the underbelly of Russia.

Behind the Sunni alliance is the US and Nato with CIA operatives on the ground. But how to arm IS? The US were already funnelling arms via a rat-line from Libya to the Syrian rebels. But not enough.

Therefore, the 'defeat' of the 30,000 Iraqis leaving their entire armament behind was to quickly arm IS. The Iraqis were supposed to flee without a fight.

If not, the US would have bombed IS to extinction when they first emerge from their Syrian fief in their Toyota pick-ups.

6th Generation Immigrant: Umno took over 60 years to exert its influence over the majority of Malays.

IS started just about three years ago and was almost immediately branded radical internationally, and yet today it has approximately 50,000 supporters in Malaysia alone.

Has anyone in Umno stopped to ponder why this is happening? Is this not a sign that Umno plans are stale and perhaps is now backfiring?

Mojo Jojo: Commander (Rtd) S Thayaparan, you hit the nail on the head with this article. Cogent and analytical as always.

SSG: Growing up, I always admired how an Indian could become the commander of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). But we lived in different times.
