No one drags Najib through the mud, he did it himself

YOURSAY | ‘Of course, the case is now 'closed'. It was meant to be that way.’

Case closed, stop dragging PM through the mud: Umno man

Multi Racial: There is a saying, "If he didn't open his mouth, nobody will say he is dumb."

What Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee has demonstrated is he is a good apple-polisher and will say and do anything to back his boss, PM Najib Razak.

Attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali is independent? Even Apandi and Najib will choke hearing this.

Najib sacked the previous AG and replace him with Apandi abruptly and without an acceptable explanation.

In the eyes of everyone, Apandi can never be independent. If he has any integrity, he should not have accepted the job or at least remove himself from this case.

Aries46: Syed Ali thinks Malaysians are like him. Does he know the meaning of independent investigation?

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) do not have prosecuting powers and moreover they report to Najib.

Apandi was appointed by Najib and ever since he has clamped down on on-going investigations and refused to bring the PM and 1MDB to book despite Bank Negara's and MACC's reports said to be incriminating.

If Najib is cleared, why is MACC appealing? Or is all these a ‘sandiwara’ (shadow play) to fool Malaysians?

Malaysians don't need puppets like Syed Ali to admonish them about Najib’s innocence. He must save his two cents worth for his compliant Umno branches that will not dare to question him.

Ipohcrite: All the upper echelons of a single political party are complicit in the cover-up and prepared to protect the political fortunes of one man and, by extension, that of themselves to the brazen detriment of their own party, the well-being of the rakyat and all the key institutions of this nation.

GE14Now!: Of course, the case is now 'closed'. It was meant to be that way.

One day before the former AG was to allegedly take action, he was axed, for health reasons that he was aware of but did not believe would incapacitate him. He was subsequently locked out of his office.

A new AG was appointed. This dance was choreographed so that the new AG would exonerate the PM.

All this is so very convenient and of course, is only to be expected in Bolehland. Never mind, let’s see what the court of public opinion has to say about this charade. Let’s have GE14 now.

Anonymous #7856234569: If the "donation" comes from foreign power to finance Umno in its electoral campaign for GE13, then it should be declared invalid as foreign money was used in a way that could influence the ruling party’s running of this country.

Res Ipsa: The PM got stuck in the mud on his own accord. Perhaps Syed Ali should consider engaging some special equipment or technology to remove the mud so that the PM could be pulled out clean without staining himself or his attire. Point taken?

Anonymous_1421806811: No one drags Najib into the mud. He did it all by himself. Now there are more questions that needed to be answered. Let’s wait and see what the "generous" Saudis have to say.

What we know and don't know about the Najib cases

Roar For Truth: The PM does not know nor want to know who deposited millions into his private account so he cannot be bribed or manipulated.

Consequently, he does not want the public to know how he spends the millions except he wants us to believe that it not for "personal" use.

The conclusion according to our newly appointed AG is that our PM is innocent of any criminal charges. Welcome to Malaysia, the Shangri-la for politicians

Headhunter: The dots are being connected one by one. One can see the picture emerging bit by bit.

Eventually, we will be able to see the big picture when the dots are fully connected. Sorry Najib, but you can't escape from it. It's only a matter of time.

Abu Iman: Is it that simple? AG says no case, PM says move on . And they expect the rakyat to keep quiet and believe them. Is that how the PM thinks of the rakyat?

Clever Voter: Clearly the weaknesses in the governance structures or the lack of them have been taken advantage of. Someone has left the door opened.

If the executives and its agents of the state are no longer functional and credible, the nation faces a bleak future. Dictatorship is already at the doorsteps.

It's pointless to produce questions that will remain unanswered. The ballot box is one solution buy not necessary the best.

The middle class must get out of its comfort zone to demand change. Civil society has been crippled too. Very soon, we are no different from many of the failed states. Expect the worst before it gets any better.
