Bashah booed because rakyat are angry, says Mukhriz
The booing of Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah by state football fans at the Darul Aman Stadium recently, may be because the people are angry over Bashah's role in his unceremonious dismissal, said former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir.
"It may be a spontaneous response from the hijau-kuning (green-yellow) supporters who are unhappy. Maybe about other issues. But some of them are disappointed, sad and even angry over what happened to me. They are dissatisfied with the political drama in the state which led to my dismissal," he told Malaysiakini in an interview.

However, while he is no longer head of Kedah Football Association (KFA), having to let go of the post along with his MB post, Mukhriz hoped that state supporters will continue to support the Kedah team.
"The influx of supporters to the Darul Aman Stadium is a good sign that they are not too disappointed until they abandon our team. To me, that is my legacy as former KFA president, and I hope my contributions will ensure that the team keep moving forward," he added.
The Mukhriz Mahathir FC Facebook page reported on Wednesday that Bashah, who is also Bakar Bata assemblyperson, was booed by the more than 17,000 Kedah fans who thronged the stadium during the Kedah-Kelantan match.
In a status on the page, the account administrator wrote: "People say that if you sow good deeds you will get good returns and if you sow bad deeds you will reap bad returns. Maybe this is what has happened to Bashah.
"After he became MB and on the first time he visited the stadium, he was booed by over 17,000 Kedah fans at the Darul Aman Stadium."
In the Super League match-up, Kedah overcame Kelantan 2-1.
The Mukhriz FC page also noted that the 'welcome' that greeted Bashah is certainly different from how the fans greeted Mukhriz when he was Kedah MB and KFA president.
Mukhriz was credited with reinvigorating Kedah football under his tenure as MB and KFA chief and is much adored by the fans.
Indeed, when he was removed as MB, several sponsorship deals that he arranged for the Red Eagles, fell through.
