DAP MPs today showed they could stomach jokes at their expense by dining at a café, which was earlier requested to take down an advertisement which poked fun at DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
“DAP MPs just couldn't resist Skohns signature lamb stew at below market prices!” DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang tweeted, in obvious reference to an earlier ribbing which got DAP hot under the collar.
Kit Siang also tweeted a picture of himself, his son, Guan Eng, DAP vice-chairperson Teresa Kok, party publicity chief Tony Pua and several others tucking in at the Damansara Perdana café.
Also in the picture was Skohns Canteen’s owner Iskandar Azaman, who had over the weekend received much flak by DAP supporters for poking fun at Guan Eng over the bungalow issue.

Last week Skohns had posted an online advertisement advertising food at “below market prices”, with a picture of the Penang Chief Minister.
Guan Eng is being investigated by the MACC after Umno accused him of receiving kickbacks in the form of a discount on a bungalow he bought last year, allegedly at below market price.
DAP had contacted Skohns to request that it take down the posting, explaining that it was misleading.
Skohn subsequently replaced the posting with another referencing the bungalow, but with a picture of a Chinese Communist Party leader.

DAP explained it had made a request but the café was free to do as it pleases.
Some DAP supporters called for a boycott on the café following the incident, but this did not stop the café from posting other tongue-in-cheek advertisements poking fun at politicians on both side of the divide.
DAP’s Kok got her share too, today, when Skohns advertised steak meals plus “amazing feng shui”.
The Seputeh MP yesterday said Guan Eng’s bungalow was probably sold at a lower price because of all the protests held in front of it had led to “ bad feng shui ”.

Skohns earlier also posted an advertisement featuring Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in reference to the PM returning RM2.03 billion of the RM2.6 billion donation he was said to received from the Saudi royal family.
The caption for this advertisement – ‘ Kalau makan tak habis boleh tapau. Tak payah kasi balik’ (If you can’t eat it all, you can bring it home. No need to return it.’
In a posting yesterday, Skohns said it is apolitical but "will uphold honesty and justice and most of all sense of humour for all Malaysians irregardless of race or religion."
As a bonus, it offered everyone who had been featured in its posters a free meal.
