Gov't: Promise to boost education system in S'wak will be met

The Education Minister will take action to boost the education system and school infrastructure in Sarawak, says Deputy Education Minister P Kamalanathan.

He said the action to be taken was the BN manifesto as promised in the 11th Sarawak state election (PRN-11) whether by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi or Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid himself.

"We will take action on every promise made during the PRN-11 campaign to ensure the education system and infrastructural requirements are upgraded to help the existing schools," he said after opening the Negri Sembilan Open Inter-School Karate Championship, in Seremban today.

He said this when asked to comment on the BN victory at the Sarawak election which saw BN winning 72 of the 82 seats contested.

Kamalanathan regarded the BN win as a major setback for the opposition who all these while only sowed numerous empty promises.
