Cogito Ergo Sum: It is mind-boggling the number of transactions used to transfer monies into a single person's account.

As each day unfolds, 1MDB's apparently elaborate deception becomes unravelled, not at home but abroad. Quite an ingenious plan, until it was uncovered by meticulous investigators overseas.

The implication of this is that local investigators were purposely dragging their feet so that the perpetrators have time to cover their tracks. Fortunately, our neighbours do not share our moral standards.

Mushiro: The grand finale of the 1MDB saga is surely coming and soon. As more information gets exposed, it is becoming apparent that it is a cunning scheme headed by flamboyant tycoon Jho Low.

The close circle involved were allegedly generously rewarded, with the bulk of the money going to certain personalities.

For former SRC International managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil to run away to Indonesia as early as last year shows that he and others were expecting prosecution.

Restless: This is really an unheard of decision - that the attorney-general (AG) cleared Najib Razak of those SRC transactions on the grounds that the PM was not aware of them.

Well, in that case, ask him to return the money.

BohChaiSee: AG Mohamed Apandi Ali cleared Najib of any wrongdoing because he was unaware of the RM69 million banked into his account by SRC through intermediaries.

Maybe the AG was right. After all, RM69 million is hardly noticeable (when one has billions of ringgit in one’s bank account).

Or could it be the AG thought they were Vietnamese dong?

Anonymous_1375151044: Where is Nik Faisal? How come no effort has been made by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) or the police to bring him back and face charges?

Is it that difficult to find him? Or is it because they don't want to find him? In which case, I fear for his safety because he knows too much.

Anonymous 1890491455255851: Firstly, claiming you were unaware of the money in your bank account (which is preposterous in itself), and for the AG to then use it as the reason for clearing Najib of wrongdoing, is so ridiculous.

Everything clearly points to the SRC monies eventually finding a home in the PM's account.

Isn't that enough for us to have serious doubt of this man's credibility as leader of our country and cause serious concern among those people in his party?

NNFC: Singapore should be commended on its speedy and open investigations.

I sincerely hope that the Singapore authorities will not be coerced into dropping the charges if any Malaysian political loyalists try to throw Singapore-Malaysia relations on the table.

AJ: So SRC is under the Finance Ministry, whose boss is Najib, and which took a RM4 billion loan from Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP), and through allegedly various fraudulent and discrete means, funnelled the money into Najib's personal account?

Vijay47: There is of course nothing illegal about having an offshore account in a tax haven; many of my friends laugh at me for not qualifying to be in that privileged class.

My only question is, why does anyone need to have a secret account overseas? His funds can always be safely stored in our many big, strong and friendly banks, including CIMB whose chairman distributes large sums of money, no questions asked.

We are now told that young-brat political sons also operate such accounts, which I am sure hold more than ‘kacang putih’ small change.

On a related topic, we all know that Mahathir's son, Ling Liong Sik's son, S Samy Vellu's son, are all millionaires and more. I wonder, isn't there a single politician's son who is not rich?

Mushiro: All of them are Umno politicians’ children. They will not be able to compete with the ordinary rakyat's children in the academic field but their parents stuff their pockets with mega money.

There is no decency and no ethics. And the fact that the money is invested overseas shows that they are hypocrites and traitors.

Anonymous Hotplate: The actual truth is that the 'poor' Malaysians have been made fools to have voted for these devouring leaders continuously for more than 50 years for them to amass wealth and properties, and their children live in luxury.

Still the Malaysian kampung folks go for cheap cash and goodies thrown to them and continue to support these alleged looters in power. God save Bolehland!
