And shouldn't the vendor who got the contract be made accountable to ensure that the system installed works well before they are paid their full contract fees? Or is this another crony scam?

Appum: Yes, so what? What happens after such reports? History repeats again and again. We get the same narrative year after year because no concrete actions and measures are taken to correct all such leakages.

When the head of a government is accused of even bigger, more massive corruption, what can be expected from the lower down-the-line officers from the directors-general to the office boys?

Such massive leakages in accumulative billions can do so much for the poorer segment of society, even the middle class who are suffering from high costs of living.

N1: In Malaysia, the minister can get away with such serious misuse of public funds.

In other countries, the minister and all the officers who are responsible would be held accountable for the failed project and would resign.

Ib: Someone needs to tell Pemandu chief Idris Jala that all his Powerpoint claims of success in transformation have come to nothing because underneath the statistics, the system and institutions are rotten.

Those foreign governments that are hiring Pemandu should be aware. But then again, those foreign governments may be hiring Pemandu only to help create another show.

Ipoh PP: The auditor-general can give reports year in and year out. No action would be taken.

In fact, the auditor-general’s post and office should be abolished. It's a waste of taxpayers' money. What's the point in having all these reports if no action is taken?

Mosquitobrain: Auditor-general Ambrin Buang, this is the BN-Umno government's modus operandi. We have heard of this too often.

Mismanagement by the BN government is already a norm. It has become so routine and it's no big deal. All these are only a fraction compared to PM Najib Razak's RM2.6 billion donation.

They follow the lead of our country's leaders, and the lack of desire to investigate and prosecute makes them feel confident to continue doing what they do.

Surely, enough is enough. Why should we, the people, be supporting such corruption and be left with such poor public services despite the high taxes we pay? And yes, what happens now?

Those people responsible should be put on trial and sentenced to the appropriate punishment as a warning to all the thousands of other public servants abusing their power and position.

MP: If audit report 2015 can be tabled, why not 1MDB’s?

Kim Quek: What was the purpose of the auditor-general’s report in the first place, if it was not to allay public anxiety over the mega scandals embroiling 1MDB? Then why is it still being kept as a secret from the public?

When the report was presented to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in March after repeated delays, it was classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) on grounds that PAC needed exclusive access to the documents during its deliberation of the 1MDB issues, but with assurance from PAC chairperson Hasan Arifin that the report would be declassified upon PAC presenting its own report to Parliament.

That promise was not honoured when the PAC tabled its report to Parliament on April 7.

Now, Hasan says only the cabinet can decide to declassify the report when MPs pressed for it to be tabled in the current session of Parliament.

Is there any information in the auditor-general’s report that may threaten national security? If not, why is it still kept a top secret, unless it contains evidence that may incriminate 1MDB and its controller, Najib?

Unless the auditor-general’s report on 1MDB is tabled in Parliament and disclosed to the public forthwith, the cabinet may be deemed to be in collusion to cover up the alleged criminalities in 1MDB.

Oscar Kilo: It cannot be tabled because 1MDB is the mother of all abuses.
