Former Langkawi division Umno member Anina Saadudin wants the women in the country to rise up for the betterment of the country’s future.

Anina was filled with emotion in a press conference today after announcing her decision to withdraw all her lawsuits filed in her capacity as an Umno member.

Her voice started cracking after she pointed out that her fight was not hers alone.

“This fight is not the fight of a former Wanita Umno member only. This fight is the fight of millions of women in the county.

“I've never thought of myself as brave or strong, but I speak in front of all Malaysians on the strength of the country’s women," Anina said.

The petite woman went on to say she would not have been able to face a powerful prime minister without the spirit of Malaysian women.

“You are my strength. With this, I beseech that the spirit of Wanita Bersatu be in all Malaysians. Rise up, Malaysian women.

“Let us bersatu in one line led by the rakyat today for the rakyat of the future,” said Anina, one of the seven founding members of new party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

Anina had earlier announced her withdrawal of suits filed against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, which sought for the RM2.6 billion donation to be returned to Umno, her suit against Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and Umno executive secretary Ab Rauf Yusof over her expulsion from Umno, as well as her application to declare Section 18C of the Societies Act as unconstitutional.

'Najib killing the spirit of children'

Anina also had a message for Najib: “You are killing the spirit of the country’s children.”

And she added: “All women will rise up in unity to defend their children in the future.”

Asked about the possibility of facing action from the other parties in the lawsuits, which could include imprisonment, Anina said she has been ready to face any kind of possibility since the first day she decided to fight for this cause.

“I want to stress that 30 million Malaysians are currently imprisoned in the biggest fraud in the history of politics.

“I will do whatever it takes in my current capacity to fight until my last drop of blood to ensure that Malaysians will be freed from the deception,” she said.

Anina was sacked from Umno in August last year, after she filed the suit against Najib to reclaim a portion of the RM2.6 billion donation.

In September, she filed the lawsuit against Tengku Adnan and Ab Rauf to challenge her sacking from the party.
