KINI ROUNDUP Here are the key headlines from yesterday you may have missed, in brief.

May 13 flying parang revival

Police are investigating an alleged Facebook posting by red shirts leader Jamal Md Yunos claiming that Bersih 5 rally on Nov 19 will be a recurrence of the May 13, 1969 race riots, complete with "flying parang".

However, Jamal said the posting was made by an impersonator using his name on Facebook and is proof that Bersih is evil.

Jamal also claims police are unfairly favouring Bersih, including when police shielded the convoy from altercations when the red shirts blocked their way on Saturday.

Red shirt get backlash over assault

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad condemn the assault on a Bersih activist by red shirt supporters in Sabak Bernam on Saturday, as "unacceptable" and "barbaric".

Police say three men have been arrested and are being investigated for rioting over the incident that saw the Bersih activist kicked by red shirt supporters.

Bersih condemns the "thuggery" but said its nationwide convoy and rally will continue.

Gerakan man under fire over sexy women remark

Gerakan human rights and legal bureau chief Baljit Singh came under fire when he proposed the party eschew middle-aged male candidates for sexy young women, to boost the outcome for the next general election.

Politicians across the divide panned Baljit, including Amanah Youth leader Shazni Munir who urged Gerakan to quit politics and open a modelling agency instead if the party was only interested in promoting sexy, young women.

Baljit later said his remarks were misinterpreted as being sexist and that he was advocating greater diversity in candidacy.
