The remand order against PKR Ampang Youth chief Adam Rosly has been extended for another four days, until this Saturday.

Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman granted the application from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Bernama reported that 28-year-old Adam, who has a "Datuk" title, was taken to a magistrate's court in Putrajaya about 9.18am today, clad in orange lock-up attire and in handcuffs. 

He was summoned to have his statement recorded by the MACC last Thursday and arrested later the same day.

Last Friday, the same magistrate had issued a five-day remand order against Adam, which expires today, for investigations under the Anti-Money-Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

The MACC first questioned Adam, 28, on Feb 10 on the source of his wealth.

This was after he landed in the spotlight over his "Disneyland-like" bungalow, following allegations made last November by Umno Sungai Besar division chief Jamal Md Yunos.

Jamal at the time claimed that Adam's bungalow was worth RM7 million, and that he also owned a fleet of luxury cars.

In response, Adam had said it was not unusual for a young person like him to be wealthy and that the bungalow in Kampung Melayu Ampang was actually an abandoned property which he had purchased in an auction for roughly RM1 million.

Since then, the Ampang PKR division has urged the MACC to conduct the investigations professionally and also said Adam had fulfilled his duties in the elected party position with integrity.
