Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Ahmad Maslan has praised Tenaga Nasional over its Hari Raya advertisement, which shows a woman juggling two jobs.

"Thank you TNB for promoting #2kerja (selling kuih during free time online). It is a very interesting video!" he wrote on Twitter today.

The advertisement features a woman who takes up a second job as a baker ahead of Hari Raya in order to buy presents for her family.

She goes through a series of comical trials and tribulations before finally reaching her home in time for Hari Raya, but without the presents because of an accident.

Following this, her mother reminds her that family is more important than material possessions and the story ends on a happy note.

Ahmad appeared to be using the video to vindicate his suggestion in December 2015 that Malaysians should take up multiple jobs to sustain themselves.

At the time, Ahmad said that he held three jobs - deputy minister, MP and Umno information chief - followed by the #2kerja hashtag.

The hashtag and the following statement - "Working hard to make an honest living" - infuriated netizens who ridiculed him while unionists warned that working two jobs would lead to health and family problems.

Ahmad later clarified that what he meant was that people could run an online business to supplement their income.
