DAP has disclosed that it is waiting for auditor Grant Thornton to submit its report on the second re-election of the party’s central executive committee (CEC).

This was after Registrar of Societies (ROS) director-general Surayati Ibrahim said yesterday that she had yet to receive the party’s report on the re-election.

"DAP is awaiting for the auditor sanctioned by ROS, Grant Thornton, to submit a report on the re-election of the DAP CEC that was successfully conducted on 12 November 2017.

"DAP has 60 days to submit a report to the ROS and we have to await for the report from Grant Thornton, as they were instructed by ROS to conduct the re-election," DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said in a statement today.

Lim also announced that the new DAP CEC held its second meeting on Nov 15 to address the appointment of 10 co-opted members into the committee on top of the 20 elected members.

Lim revealed changes had to be made as Selangor speaker and Subang Jaya assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh had declined her appointment.

"The CEC on Nov 15 then co-opted Penang Deputy Chief Minister II and Perai state assemblyperson P Ramasamy, into the CEC as an ordinary member, replacing the Subang Jaya state assemblyperson.

"Ramasamy was put in charge of The Marhaen (common people) committee to give expression to the voiceless, weak and dispossessed in Malaysia," he said.
