After denouncing a video alleging that he used vulgar terms against Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir, Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming now claims that Perak Umno Youth has filed a false police report against him.

Nga said he had lodged his own police report against them in response, as it was clear that the video was fake.

"I lodged a report against them for lodging a fake report. They know that the video was fake," he told Malaysiakini.

Yesterday, a group led by Perak Umno youth vice chief Mohd Fauzi Mohaidin lodged a report against the DAP lawmaker, over a video which claimed that Nga had called Zambry a "Melayu p***mak."

The DAP lawmaker said the video was fake and had been edited.

However, he admitted to another part of the video in which he accused Zambry (photo) of having paid for an award he received in August.

Besides Perak Umno Youth, Nga has also lodged a report against a news portal for publishing an article making the same allegations as the video.

The latest controversy comes amid both sides of the political divide accusing each other of peddling "fake news" and allegations in the run-up to the 14th general election.

Besides the attack on Zambry over the Brandlaureatte award, the video also played up the “metallic black” remark Nga had courted flak for in 2011.

Nga had since apologised for the remark, but insisted that “metallic black” did not refer to the menteri besar's dark complexion.

Besides Nga, the video also played clips of former DAP member Hew Kuan Yau, including his remarks during a ceramah in Sarawak last year, where he called on voters to let "Malays screw the Malays."
