The MH370 Response Team said a report that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 has been found is unfounded and baseless.

Response team head Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said it was aware of a widely circulated report titled "MH370 found on Google Earth".

The team, he said, had always been guided by the views, opinions and verifications from the group of experts in Australia.

“As such, the MH370 Response Team wishes to note that this report is unfounded and baseless,” Azharuddin, who is also Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia chairperson, said in a statement.

It advised members of the public to refer to the response team and its MH370 website for verified and accurate reports and news relating to MH370.

“The team feels that it's unethical to issue such a report,” Azharuddin said, adding that the feelings of the families and loved ones of those on board MH370 should be respected.

The Boeing 777 with 239 people aboard vanished during its journey from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014. Efforts to find the aircraft have so far proved futile.
