Security training should now be mandatory for every opposition politician. This includes email security, avoiding honey traps (especially when overseas) and ostensible offers of “free money.”

The only good which may come out of this is that only determined, honest and clean politicians who are immune to temptations will survive.

Help has no ethical standards, it involves even social media, and offering incentives is just one of the many forms of this.

It is common practice, even during the recent US presidential election. So what if these experts help out in a landscape designed for kleptocrats, whose interests involve hundreds if not thousands of dependents.

The opposition has no less access to such expertise, but with technology and the right expertise, one could perhaps assess its chances better.

Already, blatant promises of money and contracts have started, and with no end to such practices, it is really up to the voters. Many are gullible falling for such promises.

Lies, sex, and power are not beneath politicians eager and anxious to enter this big-time business. It is unlikely that the stakes will go any lower anytime soon, and it’s a common knowledge that money does help win elections.

Probably nothing, since a few of their leaders may have benefited from Cambridge Analytica’s services too.

If it is indeed true that Cambridge Analytica’s services were used in GE13, then with the cat already out of the bag after the international revelations in the US and UK, it won’t work this time.

So what’s next? Will Cambridge Analytica have to come up with new ideas to win GE14? Because it seems like those in power will do anything to remain in power.

GE14: The powers-that-be are that desperate this time. Through the redelineation of electoral boundaries and other manipulative tactics, there is no doubt which side will be is favoured to win.

Only the will of the people can stop it. No one else can save our beloved country from all these alleged conspirators and collaborators.

51 Kebabs: Let’s be clear, Cambridge Analytica probably only flooded social media users’ news feeds with propaganda. They didn’t change anyone’s votes, nor interfere with the process.

The “honey traps” were not even done over here, but overseas. If Umno hiring Cambridge Analytica is so bad, then what about the opposition’s use of Invoke? 

Come on, can you expect us to believe that the then Umno number two had no knowledge about his coalition hiring Cambridge Analytica?

Super sleuth Lim Guan Eng should investigate the matter – surely, he can produce some incriminating photos.

Mano: If what Wan Saiful and the Harapan leaders are saying is true, taxpayer money is being used to stay in power to allegedly loot even more taxpayer money.

Anonymous_0c358617: It's funny that neither Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin nor deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir know anything about Cambridge Analytica.

You can’t have it both ways; either the accusations are true, or they are false.

VGV: Muhyiddin must have been "played out" quite cleverly by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for not letting him know all his "secret" dealings, although you were the BN election director then.

And we may not know of his other alleged illegal activities that were done behind the backs of many Umno leaders then.
