Yoursay: Liow, stop moaning about how DAP wants to wipe you out

YOURSAY | ‘When you have no self-respect, don't expect others to respect you.’

Liow: DAP arrogant in wanting to eliminate MCA from M'sian politics

Trueglitter: It is evident the MCA leadership, particularly its grovelling and whingeing president, Liow Tiong Lai, is overcome by abject fear and desperation at the knowledge of DAP's possible placement of its candidates against MCA in the impending general election.

It has all the more made them into a laughing stock when Liow condemned DAP for being arrogant with an unconcealed agenda to wipe out MCA without truly acknowledging the general consensus of the Chinese sentiments has reduced MCA into just a pale shadow of its yesteryears by becoming mere “running dogs” to appease their Umno masters.

It comes with little surprise the much-petrified MCA president has finally awakened himself from his long slumber to address the supposedly Chinese dignity and pride when such inherent values and virtues are shamelessly non-existent within MCA culture, nor in that of his own.

The MCA leadership has evidently incurred the wrath and scorn of Chinese Malaysians when it has cowardly not lifted a finger nor uttered a word of protest to protect the dignity and right of particularly the Chinese when the distinguished and greatly admired tycoon Robert Kuok was outrageously slandered and demonised by Umno cabinet minister Nazri Abdul Aziz.

Common sense will dictate that the MCA leadership should not be cowering in fear nor be stupefied by desperation at the approach of the coming general election if their claims of having diligently and truthfully served their respective constituents are indeed the truth.

Little Sparrow: What is there to be arrogant about? In politics, every party aims to wipe out its opponents. MCA will also be aiming to wipe out DAP.

MCA and Gerakan must be panicking now. Don’t speak on behalf of the Chinese communities, as most if not all Chinese hated MCA and Gerakan for being Umno’s lapdogs. The Chinese community will definitely hope MCA and Gerakan are totally wiped out in GE14.

Gerard Lourdesamy: MCA, if you want to remain relevant, just ditch BN and join the Pakatan Harapan.

After being in a coalition with Umno for 60 years, which generally has brought zero benefits to the Chinese since Umno still indoctrinates the rural Malays with the Chinese bogeyman, the MCA should try out another coalition.

Just look at the way Nazri and other Umno leaders humiliated the MCA over the Kuok allegations. Yet MCA wants to remain in the BN and suck up to Umno and in return get some crumbs in terms of representation without power or influence in the government.

Frankly, most Chinese couldn't care less if they have representation in the BN government. Why? Because there is a huge disconnect between what BN promises and what it does in terms of Chinese rights, problems and issues.

TC Chan: Isn't that the aim of political parties to eliminate their opponents through the ballot box? What is so arrogant about DAP wanting to eliminate you through the ballot box?

It has done that before, when Chua Soi Lek was party president, resulting in a cabinet that had no Chinese representation. And the Chinese didn't mind that.

MCA's ministerial allocations are all second and third-tier ministries. Try to get the education, home, finance or defence ministries.

Existential Turd: MCA has no problem being whacked by Umno. When you have no self-respect, don't expect others to respect you.

Clever Voter: Liow has put up a brave face, knowing very well he faces two likely challenges ahead of him.

First, within the BN coalition, he cannot get what he asked for. Possibly a reduction in the seats contested by MCA, and his earlier prediction of a return of Chinese votes may not happen.

Second, it is too late to reverse the inevitable outcomes, and by portraying DAP as arrogant isn’t going to win any sympathy.

Liow knows that he will not win on both counts, including sending his deputy Wee Ka Siong on a witch-hunt in Penang.

CQ MUARku: Despite how pathetic you sounded about being eliminated, you are still adamant in your pride that you believe the Chinese are on your side.

Liow, in all honesty, from the way you and your party behaved, and your subservience towards the PM and Umno, we are ashamed, humiliated and disgusted. Therefore, we unanimously feel you and your other leaders in MCA and Gerakan deserve to be eliminated.

Even this moment when you're at your rainbow's end, you still continue with your "trademark" hypocrisy and attack. As such, how do you expect the Chinese to feel sorry, particularly after almost six decades of deception?

Anonymous_1375701728: If, as you say, the Chinese community has woken up to the antics of DAP, there is nothing for you to be worried. The losers will be DAP as their heavyweights are going up against you fellows.

It should be a walk in the park for you since you have done a lot for the community and nation as a whole. So stop whingeing.

Vijay47: If we went back deep into history, and here I am talking 30-40 years' deep, there may have been just cause for preserving the well-being of MCA and Gerakan, when it was an era where these two parties worked with pride for the future of all Malaysians.

But what excuse can you offer now, Liow? Despite protestations to the contrary, you are nothing but lackeys to Umno, a role you seemingly wear with pride.

Right now, how nightmarish it must be for you, terrified who DAP may send to stand in Bentong. Goodbye, Liow, it has not been really nice knowing you.

I.AM.Malaysian: I am puzzled by Liow's reasoning. Why would any political party field someone who will lose so that their opponent so-called "heavyweight" will win? Moreover, isn't the decision of who will be elected in the hand of the voters?

MCA, start serving the nation and make a stand against corruption and abuse of power. And start strategising and brokering for policies that benefit the people.

Bluemountains: Parties that support the National Security Council (NSC) Act and the Anti-Fake News Bill must be eliminated from the surface of this earth. Are MCA, Gerakan, MIC, SUPP, UPP and PBS supporters of these two Acts?

Awang Top: So DAP is arrogant in wanting to eliminate MCA from Malaysian politics? Beware, Liow, you could be propagating fake news.
