Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim denied taking sides in politics after his comments urging Johoreans not to change a ship's engine simply because its skipper was problematic caused a public uproar.

Umno supreme council member Reezal Merican Naina Merican lauded Tunku Ismail's comments and urged Malaysians to heed his views.

Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong said the reaction towards Tunku Ismail's comments, many of whom disagreed, should mean that support for the palace was not transferable to BN.

Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahatir Mohamad said Tunku Ismail's comment will affect Harapan, but believes that it will be in a positive way.

S'gor PAS rep defects to PKR

PAS' Paya Jaras assemblyperson Khairuddin Othman defected to PKR at a ceramah in Sungai Buloh.

PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, who was present at the ceramah, also sought to paint Jamal Md Yunos, known for his bizarre stunts, as the face of Umno.
