A South Jakarta court declared that the seizure of the superyacht Equanimity by Indonesian police failed to follow the mutual legal assistance procedure, and was therefore illegal.

The government confirmed that it granted GST relief to the China Communications Construction Company, the contractor of the East Coast Rail Line project.

The BN strategic communications team said the move was to avoid the government paying itself, as the ECRL project was commissioned by Putrajaya.

MyPPP mulls quitting BN

MyPPP president M Kayveas said his party will reconsider its future in BN after meeting with caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.

C Sivarraajh questioned if Kayveas would also claim Najib as a MyPPP member, after saying that the MIC Youth chief joined the party in 2003.

DAP member Zaid Ibrahim turned his guns on his own party, calling it a "Chinese party in Harapan".

Zaid also made a commitment to stay in Langkawi to help Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad's election campaign in the constituency.

Mahathir said he was confident of winning Langkawi or any other seat he contests in the 14th general election.

Snooze war erupts

Umno information chief Annuar Musa shared a photograph of Mahathir dozing off during an event, and recalled the latter criticising former PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for sleeping on the job.

Former minister Rafidah Aziz, who has endorsed Mahathir, shot back with a photograph of Najib snoozing at the Asean Summit.

Former minister Zainuddin Maidin concurred with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang that Mahathir should work in a 1Malaysia clinic, but only to treat "sasau" (senile) PAS leaders.

Hadi defended his hug with Najib, likening it to wrestlers greeting opponents before a match.

‘Raja Bomoh’ Ibrahim Mat Zin, who conducts his rituals using coconuts, announced his GE14 run in Bagan Datuk, one of the largest coconut producing regions in the country.
