Stop the politics of lying, Najib tells Dr M on jet ‘sabotage’

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAAM) has a director who issued a politically-charged statement instead of confining himself to the facts of the case.

The rate at which air pressure was lost from the tyres is highly unusual. This was a private plane parked at Subang Skypark.

Considering that every institution in this country has been compromised by Umno-BN over the last 60 years and going by the actions of the civil servants, police, Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the Election Commission (EC) since the dissolution of Parliament and their overt and covert support for Umno-BN, the government should ask the US National Transportation Safety Board or the FBI field office for Malaysia to investigate the allegations made by Mahathir.

The other explanation not given by Najib is why business leaders who own private jets in Malaysia have been told not to lend their planes to Mahathir?

But we have a caretaker prime minister who is still using the government executive jet to go campaigning throughout the country. Is that fair?

Vijay47: Politics of lying? Najib, you're the man who apparently invented the practice and took out a worldwide patent on it, so spare us these displays of shock and outrage over what Mahathir said regarding the plane he was scheduled to fly in.

You claim that the CAAM and the airline concerned have already established that there was no sabotage. Since when does an official confirmation or even statement carry any suggestion of truthfulness?

Even so-called passive organisations, as opposed to accomplice-status bodies like ROS and EC, are unable to resist injecting political tones to the explanations they make; the Customs director-general Subromaniam Tholasy and CAAM director-general Azharuddin A Rahman come to mind.

Perhaps you would prefer the attorney-general (AG), the inspector-general of police (IGP), the head of MACC or the House speaker as examples of towers of integrity and balance.

Najib, so closely chained are you to deception and misrepresentation, so punctured your credibility, that the moment you enter the picture, the general perception would be, “The truth must be the direct opposite of what this man says.”

No sabotage to the plane? Maybe. And pigs can fly.

Anonymous_4c379bd4: Even if what Mahathir says is not true, this happening at this point of time, with Pakatan Harapan leaders not being able to stand for elections and posters being defaced, many Malaysians will be inclined to believe him.

With all the lying and cheating of these wicked magicians, no one not on the ‘dedak’ train will believe BN anymore.

Oxymoronictendencies: Sadly for Najib, Mahathir’s claims have a ring of truth. Yes, we have seen the obstructive behaviour of Najib and his cohorts and lackeys.

And their attempts to prevent candidates from registering as candidates, parties being disallowed to contest and ridiculous new campaign poster rules.

So, yes, perhaps the problems with Mahathir’s charter jet were nothing more than coincidental.

However, it is well within the credible bounds of recent history for Mahathir to have valid grounds to suspect his plane was sabotaged in an attempt prevent him from being able to register as a candidate on nomination day.

Najib is foolish to keep this matter in the public eye as it just gives the suspicion more credence.

Bogus Warrior: Whichever hole Najib found all his mouthpieces from, he really should get a refund. This amateur hour bungle is, lest we forget, paid for by the rakyat.

Clever Voter: Whatever Eric See-To has said is not new. He merely echoed the official view of BN.

Interestingly, he picked up the allegations of corruption in Penang and Selangor, both cases were seen to be well-timed for the GE campaign.

See-To’s defence of Najib is to be expected. After all, his loyalty to BN is never in doubt.

Harapan is never perfect, but they were not responsible for the escalating external debt of RM883.4 billion and never forget, the 1MDB debts of RM32.5 billion.

Neither should we forgive a prime minister who was caught red-handed with RM2.6 billion in his private bank account.

Dingy: How can Jho Low, who was seen in a photo with Najib's family members and two Petrosaudi Arabs in a luxury yacht on a cruise in the Mediterranean seas in 2009 not involved in 1MDB?

Jho Low was the mastermind in Terengganu Investment Agency (TIA) and later 1MDB because of his connection with the Arabs.

Who has the brains in Najib's family and the Arab connections to come up with such a scheme to allegedly steal billions from the funds raised by 1MDB?

How can Najib who is PM, finance minister and 1MDB board chairperson not involved in 1MDB? His signature was all over in 1MDB documents showed that his approval was needed.

Why would US Department of Justice (DOJ) label Malaysia a kleptocracy and Newsweek call him a crook, and The Economist call him a thief if he has nothing to do with 1MDB scandal?

Let the people change the regime so that Auditor-General report on 1MDB could be released to the public and all those Najib has protected could be charged in court.
