Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) chairperson Sankara N Nair says former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak should explain what happened to the RM800 million Aset Tanah Negara Berhad (ATNB) profited from flipping MRB's land instead of "pussyfooting" around the issue.

"Do not try to confuse the issue. You only have one question to answer - explain where and what happened to the RM800 million shortfall.

"You have to distinguish the woods for the trees. There is no point pussyfooting on whether the Employees Provident Fund is building cheap houses, that is not the point," he said in a statement today.

Earlier today, Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok claimed the previous government under Najib had in 2010 instructed MRB to sell 2,800 acres of land in Sungai Buloh for an undervalued price of RM1.5 billion to ATNB.

ATNB, owned by the Finance Ministry, then flipped the land for RM2.28 billion by selling it to Kwasa Land, which is owned by the EPF. This translated to a profit of almost RM800 million.

Sankara was also present during Kok's press conference today.

Later, Najib had dismissed the allegation, claiming that there was no issue as it was merely one government entity selling to another government entity.

The Pekan MP also said the land sale to Kwasa Land will allow EPF to benefit from the development there.

As ATNB is a finance ministry entity, Najib had also said Kok should ask for the money from Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.
