BN supporters heckle Kit Siang and entourage
CAMERON POLLS | A group of BN supporters stopped a few people carrying flags with the Pakatan Harapan logo from going too near the polling centre at SJK (C) Brinchang.
Those holding the flags were following DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, who told reporters he is merely walking around.
When Lim and his entourage passed BN supporters gathered further up the road from the school, they were heckled and had insults shouted at them.
As the people holding the flags strayed past the 50m no-campaigning zone around the polling station, the BN supporters went up to them, shouting at them not to campaign, and tried to snatch the flags away.
Lim, who was dressed in a light pink shirt and brown slacks, coolly proceeded to his car as the people with the flags immediately stopped and walked back the way they came, joining the group of BN supporters further up the road.
“Are you the government or the opposition? The government has to follow the law, you know.
“We are following the rule of law here... if you don’t know how to respect the law, don’t become the government,” Umno supreme council member Armand Azha Abu Hanifah (photo) later told the Harapan supporters.
A 78-year-old woman, Tow Ah Mei, wearing a light pink shirt over a DAP Impian Sarawak T-shirt, then became involved in a war of words with the BN supporters.
“Who is right or wrong, Allah will know,” she said, holding her hands up to the sky.
A man wearing a red jacket approached Tow to tease her, “Dia (Allah) kasi sokong sama you mah (He is supporting you)."
“Auntie, auntie,” he later chanted at her mockingly.
The BN supporters, dressed in BN blue, with some sporting the logo on the chest, also began teasing and yelling back at her.
“You go away, don’t come here,” a man said to Tow.
“No manners (kurang ajar),” Tow shouted back, as a number of BN supporters used their phones to record the exchange.

Supporters of Pencuri, Perasuah and Penyamun. That is what BN supporters are!!!!!!!!
That is the way they are brought up and taught to behave by their so-called leaders. No shame and dignity.
As a newly returned Malaysian in my 50s who left at a young age because of better educational opportunities I recall with fondness my early days. I had friends of all races. We stayed over night in each other's home. We visited each other and looked forward to each other's celebrations not least because of the good food and the opportunity to stay up late. I remember that the Malay boys in our group were unfailingly polite. To be scolded kurang ajar was an insult not just to the recipient but also to the family. I remember also that my Malay friends would visit me when I moved to Singapore and stay a few days. No pork would be served at meals because even at a young age we were all taught to respect each other's beliefs. I read with sadness years ago when some thugs surrounded and manhandled Karpal Singh. Whatever you political views I was astounded to see how they treated an elder. This would be unimaginable when I was growing up. I hoped it was a one off event. Since coming back I have seen disrespect on many levels and occasions and this incident of bullying what is obviously an elderly lady in CH just brings to mind again how much the Malay/Malaysian tradition/culture of politeness and respect seems to have been eroded. All the religious studies and Arabization of the nation Malaysia has not produced better people instead it has created a truly alien "culture". To me this new culture is "pendatang". Have we lost some part of our precious culture/traditions and replaced it with something alien? Have we have thrown away the Malay and Malaysian values of respect for elders, courtesy, consideration, warmth and easy going life style that has characterized the Malaysia I remember fondly and replaced it with sullen faces because I am not your race or religion, division "Chinese only" or "Malay only" signs, lack of respect for elders, lack of consideration, rudeness etc. For this alone I feel the previous government has failed miserably and hope CH kicks them out.
