“The cooperation and help from PAS, especially, has clearly borne fruit in this by-election.

“As we expected, the voters who voted for PAS in the 14th general election have placed their trust in BN,” Mohamad said in a press conference at the SMK Sultan Ahmad Shah in Tanah Rata tonight.

The press conference was held after the Election Commission (EC) officially announced BN candidate Ramli as the winner with a 3,238-vote majority at the school, which is the official tallying centre.

Mohamad pointed to polling districts which had previously voted for PAS, and which had voted for BN this time around, as proof that the BN-PAS alliance is working.

“This is a good strategy and we will continue using this strategy,” he said.

In a Facebook post, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang congratulated BN for winning with a larger vote majority in this by-election.

“(We) see this result as a positive development towards better co-operation among the opposition bloc,” he said.

Previously, BN’s C Sivarraajh won the Cameron Highlands seat in GE14 with a 597-vote majority.

So, the great 'bumiputra' party is at the mercy of pas. mat hasan and najib, do you think your members who still have some honour and dignity will appreciate it? It is the beginning of your downfall because Malays who are smart and honest to themselves should be ashamed of umno. Remember too that your umno party have become a party which relies on the ignorant and gullible rural Malays - same as pas - juara kampung. You stooped so low, lower than pas to win using race and religion without shame and guilt thereby jeopardising the unity, stability and peace of the country. Remember that God is always on the side of the good - yours is temporary.

Nothing to be proud of. All BN did was kick out an Indian MP and replace it with a non Indian. I dont think BN with the help of PAS would want an inclusive Malaysia. They are there to only represent a segment of an extremist group. Very disappointing. They are very selfish. Using race and religion to further their corrupted ways.

Don't get carried away, Mat Hasan. PAS and UMNO had been cooperating the last two by elections before this and failed. This time they succeeded because CH was a BN stronghold anyway. PAS retained the loyalty of its supporters because of its extremist politics and they voted en bloc for BN hence the majority of 3,000+. No big deal.

PAS-BN coalition will be a real threat to PH to retain power in GE15. Don't rule out Najib as 8th PM when cases against him and Rosmah drag on for 4 or more years. That would allow Najib to contest in GE15. If PAS- BN wins in GE15, Malaysia will become an Islamic state. Syariah laws will replace civil laws. Hudud laws will be a reality. More non malays will leave the country.

Mat Hassan, prepare to take over after the coming GE. Promises are not fulfilled by Pakatan, prices kept on rising. They are too busy looking at petty things like black shoes, smoking and internal quarreling. Azmin will say something and Guan Eng will counter him. They spend too much time checking each other and looking at each others mistake. Malaysians made the biggest mistake by voting them in.

There is a PH victory in Manoharan's lost in CH. PH leaders, Indian and Chinese voters must be aware now of the race and religious cards played Umno and PAS .PH will have to nominate Malay candidate if Umno is contesting as PAS will support them.Let us see what happens in Semenyih.And in Rantau should there be a by election, Mat Hassan will contest and a Malay PH candidate must be pitted against him. Sorry Dr Streram, you have to give in due to the destructive politics of PAS and Umno. This is the sad reality of Malaysian politics.
