The Pakatan Harapan central leadership has been accused of sidelining Kelantan DAP and treating it like a “stepchild”.

Speaking to Malaysiakini, Kelantan DAP chairperson Chua Chin Hui said other component parties in the state were given specific roles and tasks to help the people.

“Kelantan DAP feels sidelined and regrets that it has not been given any posts.

“Other component parties have been given positions such as senatorships and chairpersons of statutory bodies,” he said.

Yesterday, the Kelantan DAP committee held a meeting and this was one of the issues raised.

Chua said Amanah, Bersatu and PKR chapters in Kelantan have their respective positions with the latest being PKR deputy president Azmin Ali who was appointed as chairperson of the state action council.

“We (Kelantan DAP) have members of all races at the state level.

“We are disappointed. Harapan has been running the federal government for nine months but the situation has not changed,” he added.

Chua (photo) noted how BN component parties in Kelantan were given positions when the coalition was in power.

“During BN's era, parties like MCA and Gerakan were given positions to facilitate their duties and to help the people although Kelantan was under PAS' control,” he said.

PAS managed to retain the state of Kelantan in the last general election.

Malaysiakini is contacting Kelantan Harapan chief and Amanah vice-president Husam Musa for comment.
