Ex-journalist lodges police report against Gedong rep
Several days after being probed following a police report lodged by Gedong assemblyperson Mohd Naroden Majais, former journalist Joseph Tawie today has countered by lodging a report against Naroden.

Several days after being probed following a police report lodged by Gedong assemblyperson Mohd Naroden Majais, former journalist Joseph Tawie today has countered by lodging a report against Naroden.
In a Facebook posting on Feb 28, the Sarawak-based farmer alleged that Naroden had abused his powers to invite several tuai rumah (longhouse chiefs) for a "gotong-royong" session on one of his farms, and in doing so, had made a fool of the elderly Iban leaders.
Naroden had lodged a report in connection to the posting which was confirmed by Naroden's aide Adli Kiprawi.
On Saturday, Tawie had claimed that four police officers in two unmarked cars went to his house in Simunjan and he was asked to go to the police station in Kuching to have his statement recorded.
He was escorted by two police cars in a two-hour journey to Kuching and they had recorded his statement for two hours before releasing him at 5pm.
"I lodged a report against Naroden so the police can investigate him. And also to say that my story (Facebook posting) was based on information given to me by the tuai rumah at Simunjan," he told Malaysiakini outside of the police district headquarters in Kuching today.
Tawie added that he will lodge another report against Naroden at the MACC on Thursday.
He is represented by lawyer See Chee How who is also the Batu Lintang assemblyperson.
He expressed his gratitude to several lawyers who had offered to represent him.
"I have received so many offers from various lawyers wanting to give me free service. I feel very humbled when so many people showed their support, some of whom I have never met.
"They gave me strength and the courage to come forward and lodge a report," he said.
Should have lodged the police & MACC reports prior to posting of the allegations in his Facebook. Hope you learned your lesson well. The allegations must be rock solid backed by documentary evidences not merely by hearsay All of highly corrupted politicians must be wiped out particularly in SARAWAK but it has to be done in accordance to the rule of law
Now that Joe Tawie has lodged a counter report, we must pressure the police to arrest Naroden for questioning. Fair and square. They arrested Joe Tawie based on Naroden's report. Now, they must show their impartiality and arrest Naroden based on Joe Tawie's report.
