Football legends coming to Johor for a charity match

Renowned former footballers including Ronaldo will be in Larkin, Johor, at the end of June for a charity match with a team from Johor.

This was announced by Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim on his Facebook page today.

"An all-star charity match between Rest of the World XI vs JDT Selection will take place at Larkin on 30 June 2019.

"Renowned ex-footballers including the likes of Ronaldo, Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos, Claudio Caniggia, Marco Materazzi and Robert Pires will be featured," Tunku Ismail he said in his posting.

The proceeds from this match will be donated to the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation, the National Cancer Society of Malaysia and the Women's Aid Organisation, he said.

Fan sessions for autographs and photo opportunities will also be held, he added.

Tunku Ismail also said further details would be announced later on the official Johor Southern Tigers social media page.

The Johor crown prince is in charge of the state football team and was also formerly the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president.
