Ku Li: Tiff between Anwar, Azmin could destroy Harapan

Umno veteran and Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah today said the ongoing tiff between PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and deputy president Azmin Ali could cause Pakatan Harapan to implode.
"It’s possible. But that depends on whether Anwar or Azmin has the numbers.
"Based on what we have read on social media, there seems to be some kind of split in the party," he said.
"Let's hope there is stability," added the ten-term parliamentarian.
He said he does not know whether the opposition will take over Putrajaya before the next general election.
"But if we have the numbers, why not?" he said.
He believed that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, being the big chief in the ruling coalition, also knows which way Harapan is heading.
Earlier today, 26 PKR leaders and lawmakers pledged their support for Azmin and called for unity in the party following the tiff between both leaders.
Tengku Razaleigh said it is up to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to decide if a leader commands the majority of support in the House.
"Well, you can say you have the number or have more than enough, but it is up to the Agong to determine whether the person, in his opinion, has got the majority," said Tengku Razaleigh.
In an immediate response, Harapan deputy president and Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin (photo, above) concurred that the tiff between Anwar and Azmin is not good for the ruling coalition.
"I don't want to advise because they are my friends and brothers in Pakatan Harapan.
"Of course we always pray that this will end sooner rather than later. The issue is not good for us, not only for Pakatan but for the government and the people of Malaysia," he said.
He, however, disagrees that Harapan would self-destruct if the tiff between Azmin and Anwar goes on.
"I am not so pessimistic about this issue. Hopefully, things will cool down," he told the media at Parliament lobby.
"I don't know what more to say, (I can) only pray," he said.
