The MACC is issuing compound notices to 80 individuals and entities to recover over RM420 million of 1MDB monies allegedly received by them.
Of these, MACC chief Latheefa Koya today revealed the anti-graft body is seeking RM25.7 million from former CIMB group chairperson Nazir Razak, who is also the brother of former premier Najib.
Other names listed as purported recipients of 1MDB funds included Umno Pontian MP Ahmad Maslan, Kota Baru Umno chief and former aide to Najib Mohamad Fatmi Che Salleh and former Felda chairperson Shahrir Samad.
Of the companies listed, Solar Shine Sdn Bhd was alleged to have received RM134 million.
According to Latheefa, parties concerned must pay up the sum in two weeks, failing which, they can be taken to court.
She explained this was in accordance with Anti-Money Laundering, AntiTerrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.
“All the funds involved belong to the people, and MACC will seek to recover as much as possible.
“The money involved was issued involving cheque transactions,” she said during a press conference at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya today.
Among political entities to be receiving notices are - Puteri Umno, Perak and Penang Umno liason bodies, 15 Umno divisions, Selangor and Kedah MCA liason committees, Parti Rakyat Sarawak, Kedah Gerakan, Kedah Parti Progresif Penduduk Malaysia (PPP) and MIC.
Meanwhile, foundations and organisations listed included - Federal Territory Koperasi Belia 1Malaysia, MASCOM Communications, IPF Building Fund serta Badan Rekreasi dan Komuniti Pengerang.
Aside from Solar Shine, 22 other companies were named today.
Meanwhile, Ahmad today denied receiving any cheques as claimed by both the police and MACC.
“I have been investigated by two parties in relation to allegations that I received money from 1MDB...first by the police and second by the MACC before this.
“However, I’ve informed them I had never received a cheque of the value shown in the copy shown to me by the police and MACC,” the former deputy minister said in a statement issued at Parliament lobby today.
He added he will be consulting his lawyer on his next action.
