Up to RM150k ex-gratia for family of civil servants who died in service
Next-of-kin of civil servants who died in service would be entitled to ex-gratia payouts of up to RM150,000 starting 2020.

In his speech, Lim said the payout is a part of the government's plans to acknowledge the contribution of civil servants' by improving their remuneration scheme.
He, however, did not elaborate on the mechanism of the payout.
Besides the ex-gratia, civil servants who died in service would also have their annual salary increment sped up before the increment date.
While Lim did not elaborate on the mechanism of this benefit, it is believed that it would affect the pension payout to their next-of-kins.
The government is also increasing the cost of living allowance by RM50 for civil servants from non-executive group (kumpulan pelaksana), with allocation of RM350m.
"The Volunteers Corps (Rela) would enjoy an increase of allowance by RM2 for an hour starting this Jan 1, 2020 with additional allocation of RM26 million.
"As an appreciation to services that had received the attention of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, all fire and rescue department personnel would receive fire services special allowance of RM200 every month, with allocation of RM35m for 2020.
"This would benefit a total of 14,400 firefighters."
Lim said the government is also allocating RM35m to give one-off payout of RM500 to some 70,000 soldiers who are recipients of Pingat Jasa Malaysia.
Another RM330m is provided to the Prime Minister's Department's property and land management division to maintain civil servants' quarters, while an extra RM500m would be allocated for maintenance of military and police quarters.
