PKR's central leadership council (MPP) last night added to intrigue over an apparent plot to form a new government without DAP and Amanah.
In a statement last night, the MPP urged the public to beware of those who are making backroom deals to advance their own political interest.
"Efforts to betray the trust and agenda of the people is the work of those who fear investigations and possible prosecution," said the MPP, which met yesterday.
The MPP is the party's decision-making body which meets monthly.
"PKR and Pakatan Harapan is always cautious of elements from the old regime and will not allow anyone from without or within Harapan to rob the people of their victory at the May 2018 elections and advance the reformasi agenda.
"PKR and Pakatan Harapan will always be fully committed to the transition plan between top leaders (in the new government) and (be committed) towards the reformasi agenda," said the statement.
The party vowed to "go all out and fight anyone who insists on diminishing democratic principles and continue their evil agenda".
On Tuesday, Harapan's leadership council dropped a bombshell by alleging that former Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein was covertly engineering a scheme to form a new government without DAP and Amanah.
Apparently, it involves personalities within Umno, PAS, Bersatu and PKR.
Although Hishammuddin has denied this, multiple sources from both sides of the divide and interviewed by Malaysiakini, not only fingered Hishammuddin but also Redzuan Yusof and Hamzah Zainuddin (both from Bersatu) and Azmin Ali (PKR).
