Ismail Sabri calls for DAP ban, and 8 news from yesterday

1. Opposition leader in Parliament Ismail Sabri Yaakob called for DAP to be banned if found guilty of spreading ideologies which contravene federal laws, as he claimed party leaders have been linked to the controversial comic “Belt and Road Initiative for Win-Winism” which was banned by Putrajaya for, among others, "promoting and spreading erroneous facts about the communist ideology".

2. Home Ministry officials also descended on the Asia Comic Cultural Museum in Penang to seize copies of former DAP member Hew Kuan Yau's now-banned comic book.

3. Six Umno/BN lawmakers threw their support behind Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to serve out a full term as prime minister.

The six are Mohd Shahar Abdullah (Paya Besar), Adham Baba (Tenggara), Mastura Mohd Yazid (Kuala Kangsar), Abdul Rahman Mohamad (Lipis), Ahmad Nazlan Idris (Jerantut) and Ismail Abd Muttalib (Maran).
