Taman Langat Utama, Taman Langat Murni in Kuala Langat under semi-enhanced MCO
CORONAVIRUS | Two areas in Bukit Changgang in Kuala Langat have been placed under semi-enhanced movement control order since yesterday evening.
A police officer involved in the Covid-19 operation in the district told Malaysiakini that the two affected areas are Taman Langat Utama and Taman Langat Murni in Bukit Changgang.
CORONAVIRUS | Two areas in Bukit Changgang in Kuala Langat have been placed under semi-enhanced movement control order since yesterday evening.
A police officer involved in the Covid-19 operation in the district told Malaysiakini that the two affected areas are Taman Langat Utama and Taman Langat Murni in Bukit Changgang.
"Authorities have installed concertina wires surrounding the two areas last night.
"The areas consisted of three blocks of two-storey buildings," said the cop who declined to be named.
The officer said the residents in those areas are a mix of locals and foreigners. However, the exact number of residents is still unknown.
Checks showed that the two areas were located next to each other and consisted of shop lots and apartments.
Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaludin told Malaysiakini that Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to make an announcement concerning the operations in Bukit Changgang today.
Prior to this, several localities have been placed under the enhanced MCO including Menara City One along Jalan Munshi Abdullah, two properties in Masjid India, Simpang Renggam, Hulu Langat and Petaling Jaya Old Town.
The semi-enhanced MCO is believed to be related to the discovery of 28 cases mostly involving workers at a cleaning company that serves the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Yesterday, two more cases were found linked to the cleaning company cluster.
Taman Langat Utama and Taman Langat Murni is located about 13 km from KLIA.
The Kuala Langat Health Department yesterday also posted a notice for residents of Pangsapuri Langat Utama, Taman Langat Murni and Pangsapuri Langat Murni to undergo compulsory Covid-19 testing by Friday.
Testing facilities have been set up in the area for testing today and tomorrow from 9.30am to 1pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm, it said.
Pangsapuri Langat Murni residents must undergo testing at a testing facility set up near the surau.
Taman Langat Murni residents must undergo testing at the playground on Jalan Murni 6/10.
Pangsapuri Langat Utama residents must undergo testing next to the Trans Air building, but the facility here will only open until 1pm on the same dates.
