MACC visits offices of Penang exco members
The MACC paid a visit to the offices of Penang executive committee members P Ramasamy and Zairil Khir Johari this morning but did not record statements from them.

The MACC paid a visit to the offices of Penang executive committee members P Ramasamy (above, right) and Zairil Khir Johari (above, left) this morning but did not record statements from them.
The duo confirmed this with Malaysiakini when contacted.
Ramasamy said the anti-graft officers had arrived just as he was leaving for a meeting and did not manage to speak to him.
Instead, the officers had spoken to his secretary and two security guards.
They later took photographs of the Perai lawmaker’s office, requested for a copy of his work schedule and enquired about the number of staff he had.
Zairil, meanwhile, said MACC personnel similarly visited his office in Komtar, George Town this morning and spoke to his assistants.
The officers did not interview the Tanjong Bunga assemblyperson and departed after his assistants cooperated with their requests.
“I did not have my statement recorded,” Zairil clarified.
It is believed that MACC will interview Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and his deputy Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman this afternoon.
It is understood that the four are being questioned in relation to the arrest of former Penang Port Commission chairperson Jeffrey Chew.
Chew is believed to be under investigation for alleged graft involving Penang's ambitious undersea tunnel project that will connect the island to the mainland.
MACC dropped its investigation into the matter in 2018 but restarted the probe after "new evidence" emerged.
The project has been in the planning stages since 2011 and 2012.
At the time, Chew was a special officer to then chief minister Lim Guan Eng.
