It said Muhyiddin's speech would be aired live on Facebook and broadcasted by major television stations RTM, Bernama TV, TV3 and Astro Awani.
The notice did not mention whether there would be any major announcement regarding the movement control order (MCO) which is now in its recovery phase and known as the recovery MCO.
The country had seen spikes in the number of Covid-19 cases since last month, with the situation turning worse over the past week.
Records for the highest number of cases reported daily were broken three times within one week, with yesterday's statistics becoming the latest with a total of 432 cases.
On Oct 2, the Health Ministry recorded 287 cases as of noon that day to become the highest number since June 4.
It saw another peak the next day (Oct 3) when the Health Ministry recorded 317 new cases.
It was also reported yesterday that de facto religious affairs minister Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri had tested positive for the novel coronavirus and this prompted authorities to conduct Covid-19 tests on other cabinet members and senior government officials who attended a meeting with him on Saturday.
Two Selangor state assemblypersons - Lim Yi Wei (Kampung Tunku) and Shatiri Mansor (Kota Damansara) - were also confirmed positive with the virus yesterday.
