YOURSAY | Azmin’s explanation will not move the needle

YOURSAY | ‘Mahathir’s no angel but even he refused to work with those facing corruption trials…’

Azmin: PN plan came from Dr M to ensure he could continue as PM

YellowMarlin8834: Senior Minister (Economy) Azmin Ali, we know you too well. Always pretending to be a good politician. Many of us were duped into believing it since you were the Selangor menteri besar.

You are scheming and do the prime minister’s bidding. No wonder, Umno looks down on you and your PKR ‘kataks’ (frogs).

You are saying that despite that the plan was in place, Dr Mahathir Mohamad suddenly resigned as prime minister? Mahathir must be nuts! Not that he is an angel but he has refused to work with those who are corrupted in Umno, especially those facing trials. That’s why he resigned.

Your ‘backdoor’ manoeuvre of accepting Umno in total was because you were all so desperate to take over the government. So, don’t try to spin the truth.

Mahathir, being Mahathir, resigned even though he ought to have consulted his Pakatan Harapan allies. That was the big mistake he made. He forgot that was a Harapan government, not a Mahathir government. He mistakenly thought he was indispensable.

The fact that he was unwilling to pass the baton to PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim resulted in this 'haram' government. The rakyat are suffering and his son’s (Mukhriz) political future has been destroyed by him.

Azmin, do not spin anymore. We, the rakyat, despise you and the rest of the ‘kataks’. Don’t use Covid-19 to hide your fear of holding the general election. If the election were to be held tomorrow, you will either lose because of the rakyat’s anger, or at the hands of Umno.

Jetson: Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has done a good job? Look around you. Are you blind as to what is happening?

The economy is in shambles. It is due to your and your boss’ greed for power. The Covid-19 daily cases were less than two digits not too long ago. If not for the greed of your team, it would have remained at that level.

But due to the Sabah state election, the numbers have risen to more than four digits. Even among the nations of the world, we are slowly but surely climbing our way to the top of those infected with Covid-19.

Look around you - over 300 deaths. Thousands lost their loved ones. Maybe you do not feel the misery as they are not anyone in your family.

We are living under conditions akin to a war zone. It is as good as an emergency. Just travel within the city and see how many roadblocks you will experience.

At times, the traffic is moving but sometimes, you have a meticulous police officer who wants to stop every car and check each document. This results in traffic being brought to a standstill, and a waste of petrol, time, and money.

Why even have these checkpoints? Documents will not tell you whether the person is infected or not. These checkpoints only damage the local tourism industry. The tourism industry is already dead. You are just knocking the nails into the coffin by stopping people from travelling within the nation.

If the Sheraton Move had not taken place, the nation and its economy would be in a far better shape.

Look at the bloated cabinet. Over 70 ministers and deputies who have no idea how to solve the problems of this nation. They are just thinking of how to improve their own personal agenda.

At least under Harapan rule, many professionals were assigned to head the many government-linked companies (GLCs) and government agencies. Today, we have politicians back at the helm.

Have we not experienced enough of this in the last umpteen years? Wastages, corruption and mismanagement. Haven’t we reverted back to the old ways?

Ask the businesspeople whether they are doing better. Ask the hawker on the street whether he or she is doing better. Ask the students whether they learned anything in the past 10 months.

Ask those who have to sit in their house and do their work from home whether they feel better. Ask the millions of Malaysians whether they are doing better.

It is only you and your team who are doing better. It is the ministers and their deputies who are doing better. It is all the MPs, state excos, and state assemblypersons, who received extra posts that provide them with incomes that ordinary Malaysians can only dream of at this time, who are doing better.

Stop this lying of Muhyiddin doing a better job.

FellowMalaysian: I can believe Azmin for saying Mahathir had the numbers and wanted to pull out of Harapan.

What he did not say was that Mahathir only intended to team up with bumiputera parties and totally ignore DAP, PKR, or Amanah, who he long felt are Anwar’s acolytes and will thus obstruct his grand agenda of forming a bumi-only government.

Mahathir made his intentions all too clear in his Malay Dignity Congress speech, where Anwar was, needless to say, not invited.

YellowKancil0051: Yes right, Azmin. You were plotting even before Mahathir resigned. You also wanted to declare an emergency, so, don't lie about wanting to give the mandate back to the people.

You and your gang have stolen the people's mandate given to Harapan. Don't try to spin your betrayal. If elections were to be held, you'll be the first person voted out.

BlueFish0451: Why is PN a backdoor government? Because Malaysians voted for Harapan. Even if Mahathir resigned, the government should still be in Harapan’s hand. But Azmin stole it and turned it into a backdoor government.

Talking about the crisis, who created the crisis? A robber set fire to a house. He then ran in to loot the valuables.

Later he said, “If I did not take the valuables, they would have been destroyed anyway. So, I did not steal but actually saved the valuables from the fire. So now, I have the right to keep them.”

IndigoKucing8924: Azmin, I dare you to sit down with a cross-section of the constituents in Gombak (parliament seat) and Bukit Antarabangsa (state seat) and have a discourse. Maybe the truth will percolate to the surface.
