A 75-year-old man was found dead at the site of a motorcycle accident linked to a pothole this morning.
The Star reported that the man, identified as Ho Yan Yee, was riding along Jalan Tengah in Kuala Lumpur heading towards Mid Valley early this morning when he lost control of his motorcycle.
"We were notified of the accident at 7.30am.
"Preliminary investigations showed that the motorcyclist was riding over a pothole, leading to the victim falling to the ground," Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Zulkefly Yahya was quoted as saying.
Zulkefly added that the victim died at the scene.
Poor road conditions that led to fatal accidents or serious injuries have been a long-standing issue for motorists.
The latest round of public outcry was sparked by prompt repair works and an apology by the Kuala Langat Public Works Department to Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin - after his cycling accident in Banting, Selangor due to a pothole.
